Publisher's summary

The New York Times best-selling author of the “enthralling thriller” Vision Impossible is back with her newest Psychic Eye mystery, in which psychic Abigail Cooper must rely on her inner vision to search for a missing woman.

When a mysterious client approaches Abby with a cryptic message about a young mother who has vanished, Abby is more than willing to get involved. After all, it’s the perfect distraction from dealing with the headache of her sister Cat – who has flown into town and turned Abby and Dutch’s impending nuptials into Weddingpalooza.

After Abby recruits her business partner and BFF, Candice, to assist, they meet with the parents of the missing woman. But the parents refuse to put their faith in a psychic. What’s worse, due to a grave misunderstanding, the family suspects Abby has a connection to their daughter’s husband – the man they believe to be responsible for her disappearance. So while the family may be blind to the truth, with a potential killer in her sights, Abby is determined to keep her eyes wide open.

A Butt Kickin Good Time!

Back on their home turf, Dutch and Abby try to resume normalcy, but fate, and Cat aren't having it!

Boy I think Abby is part feline, because she definitely has nine lives! Recovering from injuries occurring from her last adventure, Abby is enduring serious pain and discomfort still with physical therapy. Having to use a cane and not being able to sit for long periods of time, Abby is determined to walk down the aisle without her cane. Abby returns to work and with new clients she is trying to establish her business once more. Her bestie Candace is by her side to help in any way she can. Also, Abby and Dutch are due to be married in November, which is only a month away and they let Cat have free rein on organizing the whole thing! Mistake #1, letting Cat be in charge of the wedding.

As the duo get back into the swing of things, both Dutch and Abby get involved in cases that reach alarming, out-of-control levels! All the while having to deal with Cat and Dave, (Dave is building their house, and trying to get approvals from them on fixtures, etc. and they are ignoring his calls as well as Cat's). So let me start with Cat... She annoys me. She always has. I don't understand how a sister of Abby's can be so opposite of her when they are blood. It just baffles the mind. Enough said. Dave, all he needs is Dutch or Abby to tell him what they want in their own damn house! I mean what is so hard about that?? Why the reluctance with meeting Dave to pick out patterns, jeez! On the other hand, I totally understand at the moment in time what Abby is going through. She had a very stressful time working with the CIA, is getting married soon, and recovering from a fractured pelvis, it's just too much!

I learned more about Abby's childhood though in this book, which broke my heart and made me love her even more. On the flip side to this, Cat still annoys me. I am grateful though for such a character as Cat, because if Abby didn't have a dysfunctional family, then she would be a boring person to read about, right? And if I find out later on down the line that Cat is the way she is because of something awful that happened to her then I will feel like an asshole. So there is always that to look forward to, lol...

The ending had such a teaser about the next book, which pisses me off because I have to wait a whole month until I have another Audible credit to get it!!! You know, I would have had said credit if Eighth Grave didn't just come out right when I got my monthly Audible credit damn it! I just need to win the lottery so I can buy now, now, now!!! Who said patience was a virtue? As for the narrator Elizabeth Michaels, she is fabulous as always! I'm running out of things to say about her, she is just awesome! Elizabeth is Abby Cooper and always will be :)

Characters piece together 3 dimensional puzzle

I was impressed with this tenth entry in the Abby Cooper mystery series in which she works as a psychic intuitive, as a civilian consultant in intuitive psychic matters for the FBI, and as assistant to her best friend private investigator Candace Fusco, also a consultant with the FBI. While her role as fiancé to Dutch Rivers, FBI Agent currently working with a squad investigating cold cases, isn't a job, she watches out for him closely using all the skills she can muster.

A woman is missing from her home and no one has seen her for a couple weeks. Abby and Candace are focusing on this case while the FBI Squad works a more dangerous case. They put a lot of miles on Candace's car traveling from one scene to another as well as interviewing suspects or those involved.

To make this mystery a bit more humorous, Abby's sister Cat has been pestering Abby to answer many questions about details on the wedding. Construction manager Dave has been just as desperate for choices to be made on the final patterns and finishes on the new home he's building Abby and Dutch.

After so much traveling, the women had noticed enough clues to start putting pieces together so that Abby's intuition began making sense of the case and where the latest victim was. However, all their clue hunting alerted the bad guy to their finds and put Abby directly in his path.

Victoria Laurie took a load of information and slowly but steadily had all the characters piece together a three dimensional jigsaw puzzle that revealed the entire solution.

LOVING THE ALL SEEING EYE.

Any additional comments?

I adored this series. I listen to books while walking the dog every night and this series was entertaining, bright and breezy. Just perfect for walking 8 miles with a big energetic dog. Highly recommend.

Fun and light.

Not her best but pretty good for the style and genre. A few plot twists. Fast paced. I think it would make an entertaining read for the car or while doing tasks where you want to keep one part of your brain on what you're doing and the other on a fun story. I've liked some of her other's more. Seemed on the light side.

Loved the Twists & Turns!

Great book, back on "American Soil" ;) The narrator did a better job at differentiating voices.

Love these books

I love listening to these books. There is a mystery but it is funny. I listen to the books while I'm working and I will laugh out loud. I don't do summaries in my reviews. If you like a mystery and to laugh this something that you would like. These books are a light read and not too dark like some mystery.
