Publisher's summary

When her four-year-old daughter informs her a sick man is in their yard, Honor Gillette rushes out to help him. But that "sick" man turns out to be Lee Coburn, the man accused of murdering seven people the night before. Dangerous, desperate, and armed, he promises Honor that she and her daughter won't be hurt as long as she does everything he asks. She has no choice but to accept him at his word.

But Honor soon discovers that even those close to her can't be trusted. Coburn claims that her beloved late husband possessed something extremely valuable that places Honor and her daughter in grave danger. Coburn is there to retrieve it - at any cost. From FBI offices in Washington, D.C., to a rundown shrimp boat in coastal Louisiana, Coburn and Honor run for their lives from the very people sworn to protect them, and unravel a web of corruption and depravity that threatens not only them, but the fabric of our society.

Excitement, Twists, and Adventure!

I enjoyed reading Lethal by Sandra Brown. The narrator did a good job as well. The author takes us on a journey of conspiricy, mystery, and danger. After the main character and her young daughter are kidnapped, they learn that they don't know who they can trust anymore! Perhaps there is much more behind their recent losses than they could have ever imagined! Who do you turn to when no one appears safe? Do you contact your loved ones when doing so may place them at risk? With so many unknowns, where do you turn next?

I loved witnessing this exciting story unfold as the characters made their journey through constant turmoil while trying to discover and solve the root of the conspiracy. This was my first time listening to a Sandra Brown novel. I loved the adventure and couldn't stop listening. I will be looking for additional books by this author. If you like mystery, suspense, and excitement in a book, I recommend you give Lethal a try!

Ho Hum Sandra Brown

Any additional comments?

Some of Sandra Brown's books are great, this one is so-so. Maybe I'm jaded and want more from my mysteries and dramas.

Great Sandra Brown book

Any additional comments?

This is my favorite Sandra Brown by far. Loved the twists and turns, loved the interaction between Coburn and Emily, loved not knowing the villain until much later than usual. Narration was great, love Victor Sleazak.

Where is the last chapter??

Several people have commented that there were a lot of loose strings and a contrived ending and I completely agree. I had to listen to the last Chapter to see if I accidentally missed it or wasn’t paying enough attention but nope, she just left it out. It is as if she lost interest. Not sure I’m up for another Sandra Brown as this is my second disappointment from her. I think she should stay in the romance genre or the suspense genre, but not both. Nora Roberts is definitely better at it.

2nd S. Brown book

Very enjoyable although a lil stretched out at times. Perfect for working from home and the narrator was spot on. Not creepy or boring, yet I could def tell the characters apart. I only gave an overall of 4 starts bc my 1st S. Brown book (Overkill) was a tad bit better and she now sets my bar pretty high:D

Credit Worthy

I am big fan of Sandra Brown and narrator victor Slezak! It's very well written and engaging through to the end. The only reason I didn't give this a 5 star is because I figured out the "who done it" in the very last half of the book. Never the less... the characters are well developed and for the most part believable. I don't feel that it was too overly sexual or brutal. It's a story that will take you on a great ride with a loose seat belt. Enjoy!

Entertaining - suspense, mystery, romance

This novel was a "page turner" for me. The plot moved quickly and the main characters were people I could care about, which made it hard to stop listening. For the most part, I was able to suspend disbelief and enjoy the ride. It was a five star book until the ending, which was just too unbelievable, even though I could see it coming. But still, it was a fun listen overall.

Floats my Boat!

I am hooked on Sandra Brown AND Victor Slezak. This was another thriller with a surprise ending. I enjoyed the unexpected twists within the story. I suspected everyone of being untrustworthy. The characters being on the run truly kept the story moving. I am not a fan of precocious children though. I am old school and believe children should be seen and not heard. Emily cannot be that cute and verbal at age 4. I would rank this second to Envy, but I am working my way through Brown's novels. Highly recommended.
