Publisher's summary

New secrets, old flames, and hidden agendas are about to send bounty hunter Stephanie Plum on her most outrageous adventure yet!

MISTAKE #1
Dickie Orr
Stephanie was married to him for about fifteen minutes before she caught him cheating on her with her archnemesis, Joyce Barnhardt. Another fifteen minutes after that, Stephanie filed for divorce, hoping never to see either one of them again.

MISTAKE #2
Doing favors for super bounty hunter Carlos Manoso (aka Ranger)
Ranger needs Stephanie to meet with Dickie and find out if he's doing something shady. Turns out, he is. Turns out, Dickie's also back to doing Joyce Barnhardt. And it turns out Ranger's favors always come with a price. . . .

MISTAKE #3
Going completely nutso while doing the favor for Ranger, and trying to apply bodily injury to Dickie in front of the entire office
Now Dickie has disappeared, and Stephanie is the natural suspect in his disappearance. Is Dickie dead? Can he be found? And can Stephanie Plum stay one step ahead in this new, dangerous game? Joe Morelli, the hottest cop in Trenton, New Jersey, is also keeping Stephanie on her toes---and he may know more than he's saying about many things in Stephanie's life. It's a cat-and-mouse game for Stephanie Plum wherein the ultimate prize might be her life.

With Janet Evanovich's flair for hilarious situations, breathtaking action, and unforgettable characters, Lean Mean Thirteen shows why no one can beat Evanovich for blockbuster entertainment.

Must read(listen)

The description of "Blackie" and what happened afterwards made my husband hand me the phone and told me to call the "loony bin." Believe it or not, I can relate and picture the characters. If I have any say so, "Steph, go for Ranger, YO, Babe," "Cupcake," ain't doin' nothin' for me...Thanks Janet for the laughter that I can share with my buds (in the middle of the night).

I loved the visuals with words. I’ve loved all her nook series and can’t wait till the next one.

She makes characters come to life and give the readers a feeling of emotion that the people are almost real.

Plum Funny

Stephanie Plum is a "bounty hunter" extraordinaire who somehow manages to blow up a car or two in every book. Lula, her sidekick is an ex-"ho" who carries a Glock and seems to always be around when trouble starts. And trouble does follow Stephanie in her quest to track down her "skips", people who have missed their court dates. The two men in her life, Ranger (dark, dreamy and dangerous) and Morelli (100% sizzling Italian cop), are very protective of Stephanie and have found a way to work together to keep her from getting killed by the many crazy people in her life. This book is by far the funniest book in the series and I found myself laughing out loud many times while listening. In the interview after the book, the author offers some insight into a possible movie starring Sandra Bullock as Stephanie Plum. She said there was nothing in the works but that there might be something "someday". She said maybe the "Rock" for Ranger but didn't know who would play Morelli.

Stephanie Plum Series

I got my Husband to listen to Plum Series. He said that he could visualize the characters. We enjoy the series. When we listen to all books we get involved with Stephanie, Joe, Ranger, Lula, Grandma Maser(who is a hoot), Connie, Stephanie's parents,Diesel, and Mooner. All of the books make you feel like your watching a movie. My husband is listening to your books instead of Sirius Radio News programming. We love action, comedy with Lula and Stephanie. The take it all in stride with grandma. The compasion caring Joe and Ranger for Stephanie. The concerned mother. Connie who is the talented office manager. The love scenes are something else. Thank you for all the great books.

Another Hit for Evanovich

Janet Evanovich is a master of her genre. As usual she writes an upbeat story with characters who are familiar but who always provide unexpected twists and surprises. I find the Stephanie Plum series is the best of Evanovich's writing, and I look forward to what she can do to the number 14.
