Publisher's summary

New secrets, old flames, and hidden agendas are about to send bounty hunter Stephanie Plum on her most outrageous adventure yet!

MISTAKE #1
Dickie Orr
Stephanie was married to him for about fifteen minutes before she caught him cheating on her with her archnemesis, Joyce Barnhardt. Another fifteen minutes after that, Stephanie filed for divorce, hoping never to see either one of them again.

MISTAKE #2
Doing favors for super bounty hunter Carlos Manoso (aka Ranger)
Ranger needs Stephanie to meet with Dickie and find out if he's doing something shady. Turns out, he is. Turns out, Dickie's also back to doing Joyce Barnhardt. And it turns out Ranger's favors always come with a price. . . .

MISTAKE #3
Going completely nutso while doing the favor for Ranger, and trying to apply bodily injury to Dickie in front of the entire office
Now Dickie has disappeared, and Stephanie is the natural suspect in his disappearance. Is Dickie dead? Can he be found? And can Stephanie Plum stay one step ahead in this new, dangerous game? Joe Morelli, the hottest cop in Trenton, New Jersey, is also keeping Stephanie on her toes---and he may know more than he's saying about many things in Stephanie's life. It's a cat-and-mouse game for Stephanie Plum wherein the ultimate prize might be her life.

With Janet Evanovich's flair for hilarious situations, breathtaking action, and unforgettable characters, Lean Mean Thirteen shows why no one can beat Evanovich for blockbuster entertainment.

HYSTERICAL

I laughed so hard I almost drove my car off the road. This was by far the funniest Plum book yet! Maybe I need to have an exploding beaver at my next party!

Stephanie Plum ... My Favorite Listens

Stephanie finally gets to give her ex husband Dickie a what for! Does she lose another car? You will need to listen to find out. More slapstick adventurous fun coming your way in this 13th Plum book.

Have you wondered who Stephanie is modeled after? An interview with the author after the book gives insight about the characters and how she writes. Evanovich learned to write dialog by taking acting classes. Surprised? More surprises await ... but you have to get the audio book first and Listen and Laugh lots.

Enjoyable Mindless Reading

I love Janet Evanovich and Stephanie Plum. These books are my go to books when I want something mindless, easy listening that I don't have to think about or concentrate on. They are funny and enjoyable and Lorelei King does an excellent job with all the many many voices she does throughout the series!
If you start reading these, please keep in mind that they are easy listening! I enjoy a good historical book or a good sci-fi or other deeper books but for going to the gym, doing housework....these are the books!
Enjoy!

She pegged the cable companies workers didn't she?

It was not safe for me to dri e when the cable guy came into the conversation. Apparently the feeling is mutual throughout the states. Hate to be a cable person.

Fun and entertaining

I have loved the Stephanie Plum story for years. It helped me through my counseling program in school and now, while caring for my mother with Alzheimer's. When I need to get out of my own head and emotions, I can always count on Stephanie to make me laugh.

Lots of fun

I've read the previous Plum books, but this is the first one I've gotten on audio, and it was really enjoyable. The narrator did a really good job. My main complaint of this series has been a lack of character growth, but it seemed a bit better this time. That quibble aside, if you've read the previous books, you know what to expect -enjoyable and fun with laugh out loud spots. Ranger fans will be pleased (go Ranger) and Morelli also plays a large part. Looking forward to fourteen.
