Publisher's summary

The stitchers of the Embroiderers Guild raised over 20,000 dollars for charity - but the representative who accepted the check at the annual convention disappeared with it. It turns out that he's the husband of the local chapter president, Allie Germaine, who insists on his innocence.

But if Bob Germaine didn't pocket the check, who did? And where is Bob now? Since needlework shop owner Betsy Devonshire has broken her leg horseback riding, solving the latest crime will have to be a group project.

Easy Listening

Love this series. Can't wait until there are more of this series on audible. It is fun and I like the plots and the mystery of whodunit.

Another good installment

Monica Ferris has written another good installment in her Needlecraft Series. This one kept me guessing until the very end. I highly recommend this book and series to cozy mystery fans.

Broken Bones, A Wild Crow and Murder

Betsy has broken her leg while horseback riding, so Godwin has to fill in at the annual Embroiderers Guild convention. Things go downhill fast when the convention speaker, Bob Germaine makes off with the $24,000 check following the event, and is nowhere to be found. His wife, Allie protests his innocence and insists that something has happened to her husband, yet the police do little to to look for him, believing he has ran off with the money. Betsy wants to help, but she's out of commission with the broken leg. In comes Godwin, wanting to help with the investigation, but his intuition and sleuthing skills leave something to be desired. So with Betsy's guidance, Godwin begins to learn how best to find out what has happened to Bob Germaine . . . and the missing check. This is a fun and quirky listen . . . with the injured wild crow 😂, it makes for one of the best in the series in my opinion.

Narrator Kills The Book

The narrator sounds as if she is an amateur reading at story time at the library. The voices have very little distinction.
I do not care for books that reveal the killer and then proceed to show how they were caught. That is the plot here.

Worst book in the series

I'm a fan of this series and I have read almost evry book. This book is boring. I can't get into the mystery and the narrator does not help. Buyer beware, I would skip this one.

Narrative

The narrative in the first few books was better - but she needed to pronounce names of towns correctly. This one is like one person - doesn’t differentiate individuals very well

Knitting Bones

Third book in this series and I like author very much. Liked reader Melissa Hughes better. Connie Crawford doesn't have enough difference in her characters, can't tell who's talking.

Fun, if a little predictable at the end

I enjoy this series. Didn’t love all the time spent in creep’s head, but did enjoy seeing Goddy stretch his wings!

great story!

The narrator is only slightly better with this book than the last one. The twists & turns of the story are not quite as good as earlier books in the series, but still a delight. If the narrator had less of a monotone, it would improve greatly.
