Stone Barrington is back in New York, and after a rather harrowing sojourn in Key West, he's looking to stay closer to home and work on some simple divorce and custody cases for Woodman & Weld. But when he crosses paths with a fetching Broadway actress - and sometime lip model - Stone gets a little more deeply involved with business than he'd expected. When his new lady love turns out to be a lady with a shady past, Stone and downtown cop Dino Bacchetti realize that her beauty may have an unusually high price.

Great read if you know what you got. Way to go Stuart Woods, you got me! I thought I was listening to a Mystery Thriller. What I got was a Mystery Thriller Comedy. It took me a few chapters but I got it! Thanks, Great Listen. Tony Roberts did a great job as the sexy southern belle.
Mr. Woods must be getting older and unsure of his "performance". He seems to be trying too hard to keep a reputation going with his character, Stone Barrington. I should have taken the reviews seriously. I would have liked to book better if it had more story and less bragging.
The only unusually high price was paid by ME for downloading this book, and if you see Stone Barrington listed in the attorney section of your yellow pages, let your fingers continue walking.
Life is good for Mr. Barrington. Daily/weekly routine consist of sex, nap, more sex, more naps,a little dinner, a little lunch, a lot of bourbon, more sex, more naps. There you have it.
Tony Roberts brings the Stone Barrington series to life.....the best of it genre. All the Stuart Woods novels read by Roberts are consistantly amazing....
I'm half way through this book and can't wait for it to "get to the point" or at least END. Nothing much has happened yet except Stone's escapades in the bedroom and even that is boring. I'm not sure if it's the story or the narration, but this one leaves me dry! It's the first Audible book I have regreted buying!
I am not sure what is worse - the reader or the plot of this book. I have an hour left in the book and I'm just dying for it to end - completely boring plot, characters, story, everything - just so boring, and what's up with all the random sex stuff - is that supposed to be interesting? and the reader makes everyone sound 65 years old, (male AND females) and a heavy smoker. This guy has nothing on Dick Hill, who does the Lee Child Jack Reacher series and is excellent.
Go on, buy it. You know you want it.
...again. I'm jealous of Stone's ability to get laid-frequently. That said, I did like the story as I live in GA and know some of the places referred to in the book. If you enjoy Stone, Dino, Elaine and the rest of the gang, you'll like this one too.
Very good story line
All the characters blend together to make the story a mystery and interesting
This guy is one of the best they have Mr Roberts our hats are off to you, Truely a very
talented readed and actor. Dont give up reading we enjoy everything you do.
As truckdrivers who enjoy audio books Mr Woods does it again and Mr Roberts adds to the great story line Keep the good work. Dennis
Mr Woods is one of my favorite writers and I am always eager for a new book...this one was aweful! It is so far below his standard. This book should have had a XX Xrating and I would not have wasted my money on it.
Please leave the sex out of future writings as you do not need that crap to fill the pages.
If we could have listened to an actual story, instead of what seemed like cheap B rated porn flick.
Anything but, Stewart Woods books.
He always does a great job of bringing yhe characters to life.
All the sex scenes. They don't add to the "story'".
I'be read most of Woods' books and it seems with each new release there is more sex and he portrays women more & more as nothing but whores & sex objects. Maybe he hates women. I'm done with this author. I have no plans to read any more of his books.
