Publisher's summary

Sarai was only fourteen when her mother uprooted her to live in Mexico with a notorious drug lord. Over time she forgot what it was like to live a normal life, but she never let go of her hope to escape the compound where she has been held for the past nine years. Victor is a cold-blooded assassin who, like Sarai, has known only death and violence since he was a young boy. When Victor arrives at the compound to collect details and payment for a hit, Sarai sees him as her only opportunity for escape. But things don't go as planned and instead of finding transport back to Tucson, she finds herself free from one dangerous man and caught in the clutches of another. While on the run, Victor strays from his primal nature as he succumbs to his conscience and resolves to help Sarai. As they grow closer, he finds himself willing to risk everything to keep her alive; even his relationship with his devoted brother and liaison, Niklas, who now like everyone else wants Sarai dead. As Victor and Sarai slowly build a trust, the differences between them seem to lessen, and an unlikely attraction intensifies. But Victor's brutal skills and experience may not be enough in the end to save her, as the power she unknowingly holds over him may ultimately be what gets her killed.

Assassins and Plotting!

What made the experience of listening to Killing Sarai the most enjoyable?

Having read the story, I was reintroduced to the exceptional writing and story of these characters in the audio version

What was one of the most memorable moments of Killing Sarai?

I loved the scene where Sarai/Izabelle is at Victor's home and she goes to his room in the night to try to seduce him. They audio on that - the dialogue between the two is amazing, spot on.

What about Stephen Bel Davies and Kate Reinders ’s performance did you like?

I loved both of their performances. The emotion of the characters came out in their vocal performance perfectly

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes! I pretty much did listen to it in one sitting

Any additional comments?

I love JA Redmerski and In the Company of Killers Series!

Any additional comments?

Loved the story. Very entertaining but it could of used a little more heat and some things was maybe too far fetched.

Excellent

J.A. Redmerski's novel starts Sarai with seeing an American in Javier's officer. Sarai is a victim of human trafficking and Javier is her capturer. Sarai has been had at the compound for years and this is the first time she has ever seen an American and knows she has to find a way to leave with him.

Sarai gets into back of the American's vehicle and when he leaves, Sarai pops up with a handgun demanding to be taken back to the United States. She has no idea where she is in Mexico and the American is refusing to say how far south they are.

The American, Victor, is a hired assassin and happens to have the wrong girl in his car. He was hired to retrieve Sarai roommate, Lydia. Sarai keeps talking to Victor, who keeps telling her he does not care.

This novel is interesting because it becomes "What to do with Sarai"? It goes back and forth as to who wants her back and who wants her dead.

This book is book one out of four books.

Interesting

This book was different from my usual. I loved the suspense & wondering what was going to happen next. I felt bad for all the characters involved but it turned out to be a good book & I'm excited to move on to number two....right now :)

AMAZE-BALLS!!!!

Would you consider the audio edition of Killing Sarai to be better than the print version?

im sure this would be a GREAT read however listening to this story kept me on my toes!!! the narrators Stephen Bel Davies , Kate Reinders made this story better than i could have ever made it sound in my head.

Who was your favorite character and why?

oh victor victor victor...

What does Stephen Bel Davies and Kate Reinders bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

they made the characters realistic.. if you closed your eyes you could imagine everything they were saying.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

how couldn't you?!?.. i laughed out loud dozens of times at work! i didn't cry... however there were moments of me having to stop what im doing to listen in because im worried, anxious, or extremely excited about what about to happen.

Any additional comments?

Great Listen

What did you like about this audiobook?

Yes, the narrators are really good and the suspense is off the charts.

How has the book increased your interest in the subject matter?

I liked Victor warming up to Sarai.

Does the author present information in a way that is interesting and insightful, and if so, how does he achieve this?

No, this was my first time listening to these two.

What did you find wrong about the narrator's performance?

Victor surprised me a couple of times the way he was with Sarai.

Do you have any additional comments?

While this is a dark read, the suspense is really good. Great start to what I believe is a 4 part series.

Audible voice for Victor didn't suit for me.

Story was great but the narrators didn't suit the characters at all in my opinion.

Why all the 5* reviews?

I have 3.5 hours left and just wish it was done. I am surprised that sarai is 23 bc the book makes her sound incredibly dense, slow, inexperienced, and overall unbelievable. The story is predictable in a sad way. If I can figure out how someone is being found before the guy that does this for a living and is one of the best...then there's a problem. Without giving any spoilers, I just dont understand how these characters can be so insanely slow at catching on over and over again. I am going to try to finish it. Without these slow characters, the story is somewhat good. 2.5* rounding up to 3*.

Okay

This was pretty interesting. I liked the characters and the story. I just didn't know that it ends on a cliffhanger, and now I'll have to buy the second book.
The female narrator was okay, but the male one was terrible. Thank god he only read small parts of the book.
