Publisher's summary

Years after its final episode was broadcasted by the BBC, The Baker Street Sleuth continues to be the most famous Sherlock Holmes TV series of all time, with constant re-runs and thousands of fans. Jerry Bellamy is one of them, and his passion for the series is the only thing that makes his life bearable. With a lousy job, no friends and a difficult relationship with his family, Jerry finds comfort in the adventures of the detective played by the great Sir Bartholomew Neville. But after finding out that a mysterious killer is eliminating the actors who played Dr. Watson in the different seasons of The Baker Street Sleuth, Jerry and Neville team up to form an unlikely partnership to stop these murders from happening. A mysterious redhead, secret agents, and street kids with sharp pocket-knives complete this unusual crime novel where finding out who the killer is might not be the end of the mystery.

An unexpected pleasure

I avoided this book, although it showed up in my searches for "Sherlock Holmes" stories, for quite some time. The title put me off - I don't want Watson killed. The description didn't really appeal to me either - I have only recently watched an episode or two of Holmes on youtube. I only know him through the writings. I was very pleasantly surprised. I was drawn in quickly and wanted to keep listening. I thought I knew who did it and didn't. I am really happy that I did listen to it. And I shouldn't judge a book by its cover!

Enjoyable!

The actors playing Dr. Watson in an old BBC TV show called Baker Street Sleuths are being killed. Jerry Bellamy, a over the top fan of the show, teams up with Sir Bartholomew Neville, the show’s Sherlock Holmes, to investigate. Twists, turns, quirky characters, and a lot of fun. The narration is great. I received a free audiobook code for my honest review.
