Publisher's summary

#1 New York Times best-selling author Vince Flynn is back with another nail-biting political thriller that follows the young Mitch Rapp on a deadly mission to hunt down the men responsible for the Pan Am Lockerbie terrorist attack.

For months, Mitch Rapp has been steadily working his way through a list of men, bullet by bullet. With each kill, the tangled network of monsters responsible for the slaughter of 270 civilians becomes increasingly clear. He is given his next target: a plump Libyan diplomat who is prone to drink and is currently in Paris without a single bodyguard.

Rapp finds him completely unprotected and asleep in his bed. With confidence in his well-honed skills and conviction of the man’s guilt, he easily sends a bullet into the man’s skull. But in the split second it takes the bullet to leave the silenced pistol, everything changes. The door to the hotel room is kicked open and gunfire erupts all around Rapp. In an instant the hunter has become the hunted. Rapp is left wounded and must flee for his life.

The next morning, the news breaks in Washington that Libya’s Oil Minister has been killed along with three innocent civilians and four unidentified men. The French authorities are certain that the gunman is wounded and on the loose in Paris. As the finger pointing begins, Rapp’s handlers have only one choice - deny any responsibility for the incident and pray that their newest secret weapon stays that way, avoiding capture and dying quietly. One person in the group, however, is not prone to leaving things to chance. Rapp has become a liability, and he absolutely cannot be allowed to be taken alive by the French authorities. But it will soon become clear that nothing is more dangerous than a wounded and cornered Mitch Rapp.

Early days of Mitch Rapp better than a new series

Seems like a long wait since American Assassin, but worth it. This installment continues to give us the background story of Mitch Rapp's early days with Stansfield, Kennedy, Hurly, and in this novel much more on the character of Victor who first appeared in American Assassin. The story works as a stand alone, but when taken within the context of the entire Mitch Rapp series, provides more detail on the characters we have grown accustomed to. Mr. Flynn maintains his great story telling and is complimented by the competent narration of George Guidall. Recommended both for new readers and devoted followers of Vince Flynn's work.

Espionage thriller about the young Mitch Rapp!

Kill shot is Book 2 in the Mitch Rapp series based on his age, but the novel was actually written 12th of the 13 Rapp novels written by Vince Flynn. After a series of successful missions, Rapp is shot when he kills a crooked Libyan diplomat and child rapist who had much more protection than anticipated. Rapp is concerned that the CIA turned against him so he goes underground. Over the objections of Irene Kennedy the CIA sends Stan Hurley to find him and return him home.

Kill Shot features the Stan Hurley and his bravery, or maybe it's his insane tenacity.

I cannot rank novels in the Mitch Rapp series because every one deserves a rock solid 5 star rating. Vince Flynn often said that Hurley is his favorite of all of the characters he created. Kill Shot and American Assassin (Rapp Book1) feature the crusty old Hurley at his best and at his worse respectively.

George Guidall does the narration fabulously well.

Vince Flynn was THE master of the espionage thriller. He is missed!

Enjoyable as always

As always, George Guidall, is the undisputed champion of narrators in my humble opinion. The story was good but I reserve a "5" in "story" and "overall" to the international intrique characteristic of Vince Flynn's previous "Mitch Rapp" novels. Although I still enjoyed the story, I was not as thrilled as I had been in previous stories set hunting down extremist terrorist in international locations. Vince Flynn and George Guidall are my favorite team for providing me thrilling counter espionage entertainment.

Very impressive!

For people who enjoy television shows like "24" or Tom Clancy type of movies/books, you'll likely love this book as much as I did. A unique story with some action, lots of suspense, and good dialog. I also like that the story remained focus on events that happen over a few days and doesn't try to become overly epic. It has the right amount of depth without getting overly complicated. The great story is topped off with a brilliant narrator.

Rapp is the ultimate badass. And Stan Hurley is to

I found it hard to stop listening to. With a great set of characters, and the best narrator in the business. I own them all in this series.

Mitch can come on home to to me.

In the 70s, we boomer babes drooled over the mafia tough guys; in the 80s we loved lawyers and in the 90s we couldn't get enough of cops and PIs. Since 9-11-2001, we turned our ardor toward special forces; and when the Navy Seals took down Bin Ladin, we became ga-ga over these guys. Thank you Vince Flynn for giving me Mitch, a man who makes me melty; and George Guidall, thank you for giving Mitch the voice that makes me tingly. There's stuff about enemies and guns and bombs, but when Mitch Rapp wants to look into the eyes of some evil bastard before he kills him, well, I wish he was coming home to me so I could reward him for protecting us.
