Publisher's summary

#1 New York Times best-selling author Vince Flynn is back with another nail-biting political thriller that follows the young Mitch Rapp on a deadly mission to hunt down the men responsible for the Pan Am Lockerbie terrorist attack.

For months, Mitch Rapp has been steadily working his way through a list of men, bullet by bullet. With each kill, the tangled network of monsters responsible for the slaughter of 270 civilians becomes increasingly clear. He is given his next target: a plump Libyan diplomat who is prone to drink and is currently in Paris without a single bodyguard.

Rapp finds him completely unprotected and asleep in his bed. With confidence in his well-honed skills and conviction of the man’s guilt, he easily sends a bullet into the man’s skull. But in the split second it takes the bullet to leave the silenced pistol, everything changes. The door to the hotel room is kicked open and gunfire erupts all around Rapp. In an instant the hunter has become the hunted. Rapp is left wounded and must flee for his life.

The next morning, the news breaks in Washington that Libya’s Oil Minister has been killed along with three innocent civilians and four unidentified men. The French authorities are certain that the gunman is wounded and on the loose in Paris. As the finger pointing begins, Rapp’s handlers have only one choice - deny any responsibility for the incident and pray that their newest secret weapon stays that way, avoiding capture and dying quietly. One person in the group, however, is not prone to leaving things to chance. Rapp has become a liability, and he absolutely cannot be allowed to be taken alive by the French authorities. But it will soon become clear that nothing is more dangerous than a wounded and cornered Mitch Rapp.

Bad continuity.

It's almost like the author didn't read the first book.
Hurley owes Rapp from first book. Why would he hate him so much in this one?

Found a new author

Although it took me awhile to get to know characters, once I did they really seemed to come to life. I really enjoyed the book and will look for more from this author

Book was good

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Put it in the right sequence with the rest of his books

What three words best describe Armand Schultz???s voice?

pleasant, good inflections

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

not ncessarily

Any additional comments?

Short compared to the rest of his books and out of sequence but if you read all the others you certainly knew some of the charcters

Skip the abridged version.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I couldn't recommend the abridged version because of the weak narration; charactervoices are sometimes indistinguishable and his French accent is nonexistent.

Would you be willing to try another book from Vince Flynn? Why or why not?

Yes. Great story lines and strong protagonist.

Would you be willing to try another one of Armand Schultz’s performances?

No.

Was Kill Shot worth the listening time?

Not this version...couldn't make it past 16 chapters; it was painful. I'll try the unabridged version.

Any additional comments?

I think reviews of listeners is important for prospective buyers; I know it is for me.

Typical Flynn & Mitch

What made the experience of listening to Kill Shot the most enjoyable?

Flynn has an incredible way of describing action scenes and character traits and flaws. It's easy listening and story telling at it's best.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Kill Shot?

Do I want to give the book away? The scene in the Paris Hotel room was great. Wasn't quite sure where that was going but in the end I like the way they closed the loop

What about Armand Schultz’s performance did you like?

He uses his voice subtly for character destinction. It makes it easier to follow especially with a lot of quick moving dialog.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Trust is a dangerous thing.

Any additional comments?

While these may not be as complicated as some of the other Flynn books out there, it's a great listen with fast paced action, psychological development and just enough technical speak as to not muddy the water.
