Best James Patterson Yet!

The story line is so very unusual it took me by surprise after each few minutes of dialogue. Surprises abound as I listened to this very unique story. Really never guessed what was about to happen as I listened. Felt deeply involved as I learned to understand each character brought into the story line. Performance of the narrators were not outstanding but the five stars I allocated to the book were well earned in spite of the performances of the main narrator. (Just seemed a little weak but filled the bill well in that I was not supposed to know who he actually was until later on in the book). Great book!!! Recommend it to all your readers!

Ugh...save your credit

I never write reviews and I usually don't read them, but if I can save you the pain of listening to this, it's worth a try. The writing is choppy and terribly sappy, it sounds like something a 6th grader has submitted as a project. I'm not sure how Patterson is still selling books, but the last several I have read have been a waste of time. Listening to this one confirmed it for me! And what is it with his calling out name brands of items, does he get a kickback from Creme de la Mer and Boss Hugo??? The narrator tries to give it life, but I think Patterson's lost his mojo!!

Don't Ask Me to Support This Storyline

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I think all Patterson fans will be disappointed.

What do you think your next listen will be?

The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest

Have you listened to any of Jeff Woodman and Jason Culp ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, and I won't

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Yes, of course but not enough to make me swallow this premise. Don't want to give away the twist in this story. I will just say I could not find it in my mind to accept the lead character's profession. Shame on you for asking us to like this person.

Any additional comments?

I wish Mr. Patterson would write his novels by himself. This is the second novel by a team that I have found repulsive. The Swimsuit was violent and pornographic way beyond Mr. Patterson's normal violent stories.

Gratuitous Sex - Can't even finish the book. :(

Would you try another book from James Patterson and Marshall Karp and/or Jeff Woodman and Jason Culp ?

James Patterson, yes. While there is usually sex in his stories, it's never been this over-the-top. I'm really disappointed. :(

These other guys, I don't know.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The premise of the story is really intriguing. The gratuitous sex is the least interesting.

Explicit Sex and Bad Language caught me off guard!

I have only listened to 2 hours so far and most likely will not be finishing this one. I understand the need to have immoral content in books to create conflict for the characters...BUT I am disappointed with this novel so far because it is the main character who is very immoral: having sex with his teacher (described in detail) and again and again. Also, the lying and stealing aren't too out of question if they set up the plot, but the over the top, constant blasphemous language is way too much for me...WHEN IT IS THE MAIN HERO WHO IS DOING IT! I'm not a prude, but this book, so far, is very distasteful because I expect the protagonist to be honorable and not take advantage of immoral behavior. One more time... immorality is necessary in most stories, but I want it to be the bad guys and some of it to be implied and with some moderation. To me, the sex and vulgar items DO NOT help the plot move along. I was caught off guard here. I hope this helps someone else...

Patterson continues to give a good story!

I am a fan of James Patterson's writing and this was just another example of the twists and turns in this book. If you like mystery, intrigue, action (and there's a bit of 'sappy' stuff) get this book!

Incredible!

I haven't read James Patterson in a while because I'd become disenchanted with some of his recurring characters, but with Kill Me If You Can, I'm totally back on board. I loved this book from its snap-your-head-back fast beginning to its mysterious, let-me-think-about-this end. I can't wait to see/hear more from this cast of characters and, especially, the Ghost. In two words - Loved It!

The male version of Patterson's Now You See Her

After having listened to Now You See Her and Kill Me if you Can, I really like this somewhat new style coming from James Patterson. The "heros" in both books have a shady past yet they are ever the optimists and even while under heavy gunfire seem to be upbeat and chipper. This got on my nerves at first but I found myself enjoying it.

In Kill Me if you Can, Matthew Bannon is an art student who finds a doctor's bag full of diamonds next to a dying Russian mobster. This is the story of the people who need to find Matthew and Matthew's attempts to out-run them.

The pace is fast and aside from a pretty major plot twist we are kept on a very linear path to the end.

I'm giving this book 3 stars because it is a fun read with great characters and for you Audible listeners, you will find two great readers that help break up the good guys from the bad guys.

My biggest issue with any book is when I'm asked to suspend belief when the big shootout/fist fight/final plan is implemented. Without giving anything away, there is a big to-do at the end and quite frankly I had to suspend way too much belief. I also was not a big fan of the ending either.

In summary Kill Me if you Can is a decent book and a fun ride with great characters but don't expect anything special in terms of plot.

If you are not a fan of suspending belief during major action sequences then you might look elsewhere. I was not and dinged this book from a 4 to a 3 star due especially to the last chapters.

Loved It! More GHOST Please!!!

This was a great book by my favorite author and my favorite narrator. What could be better.

So many twists and turns throughout and then that ending! Unanswered questions abound. I hope we hear more from the Ghost.
