    "Keep Me Close"

No a bad read. While the story line was good, the book was a bit drawn out. It could have been 2/3 the length. Slow at times, it still had a good, somewhat predictable ending. I'd consider reading another of her books.

I love mysteries in the style of P.D. James, Rex Stout, Elizabeth Peters, Dave Duncan, etc. I love sci fi written by Issac Asimov (the robot books), Douglas Adams, Jack McDevitt (Alex Benedict series) and Susan Collins. I love fantasy written by Terry Pratchett, and Kim Harrison. I love Kate Morton. I don't like graphic descriptions of violence.

    "A 4 star book; a 5 star narrator."

My favorite mystery author is P. D. James, but I have read all her books (a couple of times). So I am always looking for another mystery writer who reminds me of her. This book by Clare Francis comes very close. I enjoyed every minute. And, of course, any book read by Robert Powell is worth listening to. These two are a wonderful combination.

    "Keep Me Close"

I had read some early Clare Francis books some years ago and really enjoyed them but had forgotten about her. I was pleasantly surprised when I found this book on Audible. I decided to give her another try and am glad I did. Set in Ireland and London with some good intrigue and love twists, it was a good listen. The author seems to have good insight into human nature and communicates it well. She must also be a good observer as she puts in little personal nuances that you think about yourself and are suprised when someone else notices the same things. The book grew on me the further I got into it. Clare Francis spins a good story. I'll for sure listen to her other Audible books now.

    "Good storytelling"

The story was well written except for the description of the characters. You immediately discern the good vs. bad instead of slowing evolving.
