Publisher's summary

Only hours after Holmes and Russell return from solving one murky riddle on the moor, another knocks on their front door...literally. It's a mystery that begins during the Great War, when Gabriel Hughenfort died amidst scandalous rumors that have haunted the family ever since. But it's not until Holmes and Russell arrive at Justice Hall, a home of unearthly perfection set in a garden modeled on Paradise, that they fully understand the irony echoed in the family motto, Justicia fortitudo mea est.

A trail of ominous clues comprise a mystery that leads from an English hamlet to the city of Paris to the wild prairie of the New World. The trap is set, the game is afoot; but can Holmes and Russell catch an elusive killer, or has the murderer caught them?

Great Book, great narration!

This was a wonderful read. I hadn't read it in book form before, and perhaps because of that, Jenny Sterlin's narration never sounded better to me. I've been rather hard on Ms. Sterlin in previous reviews, and I suspect that in time I will regret it. This time the story really came to life in her hands. Bravo!

I love, love, love Justice Hall and O Jerusalem. I just listened to them back to back and will listen again and again.

Loved it!

Laurie King has done it again! In this story we meet new people and bring back old friends.Holmes is as sly as ever and Mikroft is intertwined throughout.Jenny Sterlin has done an excellant job,as always, with narrating. You should listen to "The Moor" before "Justice Hall".Highly recommend!

Loved this book!

The characters are richly drawn and I love all the details. Some listeners my not like quite so much background and setting information, but it intrigues me. Will start the next in the series immediately. Should read them in order.

Yes, Justice!

First, You cannot read a better set of books then these!
There is no doubt in my mind when one comes out I will get it.
Second, This reader was meant to read these books. She is utterly fantastic, with voices perfectly right for the characters.
Third, Read them IN Order. You won't be disappointed and they follow a growth and development of the stories.

A Great Listen!

The stories are always interesting and the background information thorough. England's past, presented in the future, is fascinating.

Good read

Another good story. Characters were more interesting here than in oh Jerusalem. Narrator does a fine job - perhaps with the exception of any form of North American accent! But hardly a deterrent as a listener.

best listened to immediately after O Jerusalem

this was my second time listening to Justice Hall, and this time I listened immediately after O Jerusalem, so all the characters and references would be staying my mind as context and back story. Laurie King definitely stands up to a second listen, with the details of the setting, exploration of the concerns of the time period, and thoughtful use of language. not to mention the intelligence and ascerbic wit of Mary Russell!
