Crack another case with Eve Dallas.

All I need in life is my family and an inexhaustable supply of books.
Every now and then I read a comment on the "In Death" series where the reviewer has a negative comment on Susan Ericksen's narration. This baffles me. Ms. Ericksen IS Eve, Roarke, Peabody, etc. I would NEVER want another narrator for this series.
I enjoy Nora Roberts/J D Robb's writing and I love Ms. Ericksen's narration. Please, don't listen to the negative comments. Listen to one of the books and make the decision yourself. I don't think you will regret it.
I can't imagine anyone else reading the In Death books. Susan Ericksen is great, in my opinion and, after what seems like tons of books in the series she IS the voice of Dallas, Roarke, Peabody (my favorite), the commander and everyone else. The stories are so entertaining and fun to listen to, I wish J.D. Robb could write more of them. When she writes as Nora Roberts, the books don't send me but this series is one of my very favorites.
I just discovered JD Robb's "In Death" series of books not long ago. I'm in book hog heaven! I started with book one and am working my way up the list. As soon as I finish one I move on to the next.
I love the characters. A good plot will fall flat if you don't like the main characters. All of Robb's characters are fleshed out, warts and all.
Susan Ericksen is irreplaceable as the narrator. She does an excellent job.
I highly recommend all of the "In Death" books for a great whodunnit escape in fantasy.
I am at a loss to come up with enough superlatives for J.D. Robb (author) and Susan Ericksen (narrator)!! There are "scenes" in this one that I played for friends, out of context, because they are so PERFECTLY staged. I would point out that that alone should tell you a LOT!! You can't HAVE such scenes if you are not thoroughly engrossed in the story and have a big investment in the characters!!
I am a retired Court Reporter and I LOVE books. All kinds of books but my favorites are mysteries and period books. I like civil war books and some biographies.
This one really got to me at the end, it tugged on the heartstrings.
I enjoyed the plot greatly, and did not see the ending coming at all.
Great addition to series!
Unlike the rest of the series, this one took me FOREVER to slog through as it was slow and lacked the normal humor and character charm of the others. If you miss this one well you actually haven't miss anything
ROURKE, love his IRISH accent and mysteriousness about him
Susan Ericksen does a great job with all her characters, she started this book off a little slow but it picked up as the book moved on. Many readers commented about the Peabody character and I had braced myself it wouldn't sound like Peabody, but I thought she still held true to her character.
Absolutely. Every mystery keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what unfolds.
Yes, both with the case and with Eve's personal life. I love listening to how Eve and her husband and friends deal with the cases together. The dynamic is fascinating and well developed.
Her incredibly talented performances. Even at book 11, I am always so impressed with this narrator. The author continues to add characters, and Susan Ericksen has a unique and always fitting voice for every character. She never messes up. When I read, I unknowingly give characters a certain voice in my head, and Susan Ericksen does this for you. It makes the books that much more enjoyable. I am so thankful she is the narrator for this series and hope she is until the very last book.
The narrator Susan Ericksen is amazing..
Any book in the Series so far, this is #11
Susan makes the characters come alive. Each story is so unique.
