Publisher's summary

A killer is at work in the nation's capital, and he seems to like variety. His victims range from kindergarten students to senators - not even the President is safe. Alex Cross, hero of Along Came a Spider and Kiss the Girls, is awakened one night to confront the brutal murder of a little girl only blocks away from his house. With a single clue, a mysterious rhyme signed "Jack and Jill", the skilled and courageous Cross sets out to track the murderer. Can he work fast enough to spare the killer's next victim?

Love the Alex Cross series

Any additional comments?

James Patterson is one of my favorite authors. His stories always grab you from the first page and you don't want to put it down until you're finished; and then you can't wait to read the next one. I don't get a chance to read as often as I like, so being able to listen to the Alex Cross series on audible is a perfect way for me to catch up. This series in particular is my favorite. At the end of each book you want more; it's like an addiction. Jack and Jill is just as engrossing as Along Came a Spider and Kiss the Girls. James Patterson and Alex Cross never disappoints.

Not Patterson's best, but not bad

Narrator tried too hard on voice of Nana Mama, other than that it was not bad. Not sure where it's going with Mrs. Johnson. Alex's encounter with her was strange and a little out of place. Why no mention of Alex's daughter?

Tring to be a thriller

The story lacks credibility. The subplots don't come together into a story. Alex Cross seems to be to much a super hero. The idea has potential but didn't deliver. I got so bored with it I didn't even finish it.

Don't waste your time on this abridged version

Struggled to finish this one - too many sound effects and "over" acting. The story was lost in this very short version.

Great performance - pity about the soryline

Would you try another book from James Patterson and/or Blair Underwood and John Rubinstein ?

This book disappointed - and how. So stretched was the story line that it was at breaking point. So lacking in credibility - it just cut lose.

What could James Patterson have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

The plot was just fanciful. The poor Dr. was struggling to cope with one situation - so they were piled on ... and on.

What about Blair Underwood and John Rubinstein ’s performance did you like?

Ecellant performance - as an aside

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment- incredulity

Waste of time and money

What would have made Jack and Jill better?

This book was short and not very well written. The performance by Mr. Underwood was awful and darn-right unprofessional. The writing was sloppy and amateur-ish.

What was most disappointing about James Patterson’s story?

Alex Cross doesn't curse as much as he did in this book. Mr. Cross is much more intelligent and professional in other stories. This book felt unedited and rushed.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Blair Underwood and John Rubinstein ?

No idea, but Blair Underwood's tense voice is laughable.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I still love Alex Cross.

Any additional comments?

This is the only Patterson book I haven't enjoyed.
