Thought Provoking

Michael Crichton makes you think, and the interviewer asked pertinent, intelligent and relevant questions. I have listened to the interview again, because it has a lot to it.

Open me first!

Crichton's "State of Fear" faced a lot of criticism when it first came out, and today is widely neglected and dismissed. But if you listen to this interview before starting the book, you'll have a much better idea where the author was coming from. He isn't dissing the environmental movement or the idea of global warming. He's warning us about the kind of groupthink through which politicans, lawyers and the media control society by uniting us against a common threat that may or may not be real. In a time where "fake news" is heard daily, it's worth your time.

Interesting

It is interesting to hear Michael's views that helped him write his new book.
Also, how he tries to be non-political.

Right from the horse's mouth

People always speculate and say what they heard others say about controversial or famous authors. And when these authors aren't with us anymore to defend themselves, it becomes easier to paint an erroneous picture of them. This interview tells you the kind of author Crichton was. The whys of his views, political stances and most importantly, how he was not a man seeking controversy. Rather, he was a man who truly believed in science but also of the fanaticism that has arisen from the ever increasing political divide which has reached its tendrils into science, making it nearly impossible to have a healthy discussion.

Not so good

The interview is fine, but Crichton really should know better than to push trash like this.

Zzzz

Very dull interview. I like Michael Crichton's books, but this interview is not worth the free download.

Move Of Crichton's BS

I used to really love Crichton as a writer. He wrote so many great stories that were a really unique blend of believable and fascinating science and fantasy, plus great storytelling. But by the end of his career, he somehow became this bitter old coot. This interview just demonstrates that. He became really anti-environment, a mindless naysayer republican goofball. I shall try to remember him when he was sane. Don't bother with this garbage.

i once thought crichton was ahead of the curve for plausible science fiction.

this book (and interview) are pure political agenda

disguised as "smart science fiction"...

sad.
