Publisher's summary

#1 WORLDWIDE BESTSELLER • Harvard professor of symbology Robert Langdon awakens in an Italian hospital, disoriented and with no recollection of the past thirty-six hours, including the origin of the macabre object hidden in his belongings.

“One hell of a good read.... As close as a book can come to a summertime cinematic blockbuster.” —
USA Today

“A diverting thriller.” —
Entertainment Weekly

With a relentless female assassin trailing them through Florence, he and his resourceful doctor, Sienna Brooks, are forced to flee.

Embarking on a harrowing journey, they must unravel a series of codes, which are the work of a brilliant scientist whose obsession with the end of the world is matched only by his passion for one of the most influential masterpieces ever written, Dante Alighieri's The Inferno.

Dan Brown has raised the bar yet again, combining classical Italian art, history, and literature with cutting-edge science in this captivating thriller.

The devil is in the details.

Dan Browns books are like the art written with in them; Flawless in every way. His books maintain a perfect writing that knows no bounds. The stories of Robert Langdon have always amuse, interested, and adored me with the love world art, reading, and story telling. And the voice of Paul McMichael makes the character of Robert Langdon in every way.

A great tour to Florence, but the Code all over again

Style is one thing, but the tricks overpowered the storyline. I certainly enjoyed the tour over one of the most beautiful cities in the world but the overly twisted plot irritated me.
Paul Mitchell performed flawlessly.

Cool story. Great narration.

I enjoy Dan Brown books. I liked the fact that this one was current and had lots of relative symbology to the modern world. The ending was somewhat anti climactic, but it was a good read nonetheless.

Classic Dan Brown; Good narrator

Classic Dan Brown novel. Tracks similar blueprints to Angels & Demons, Da Vinci Code, and The Lost Symbol. That said, I still did not see certain parts coming so while I understand what a novel containing Robert Langdon will entail, I still was engaged. Narrator does a good job bringing it to life, but there is so much detail to his novels I feel that it can be tricky to grasp subtle details when listening to the audio.

His stories are getting predictable-still good tho

Any additional comments?

This was a very pleasant contrast to some heavier reads. I can kind-of see the plot twists coming now, but I gotta say it was still enjoyable!

Good, but not his best book

I started with DaVinci Code and loved it. After, I went back to his earlier works and enjoyed them, but could definitely tell that his writing, plot development and characters had come a long way. When starting this book, I would have assumed that Inferno would have shown the same evolution, but I thought it was a step back from the quality of his previous book.

With that said, I did enjoy it and thought it was worth the read (or listen).
