Publisher's summary

#1 WORLDWIDE BESTSELLER • Harvard professor of symbology Robert Langdon awakens in an Italian hospital, disoriented and with no recollection of the past thirty-six hours, including the origin of the macabre object hidden in his belongings.

“One hell of a good read.... As close as a book can come to a summertime cinematic blockbuster.” —
USA Today

“A diverting thriller.” —
Entertainment Weekly

With a relentless female assassin trailing them through Florence, he and his resourceful doctor, Sienna Brooks, are forced to flee.

Embarking on a harrowing journey, they must unravel a series of codes, which are the work of a brilliant scientist whose obsession with the end of the world is matched only by his passion for one of the most influential masterpieces ever written, Dante Alighieri's The Inferno.

Dan Brown has raised the bar yet again, combining classical Italian art, history, and literature with cutting-edge science in this captivating thriller.

Terrible story with good narrator.

Narrator gets an A--
Author and Story get a C--
Dan Brown phoned these last two in. They would be terrible to read. As background noise while doing projects and driving, they almost hold your attention. Far from Angels and light years from Davinci.

Excellent book

Loved it, Great narration, great story and excellent character building,

Detailed and thorough in its weaving of history and fiction with a great twist,

Highly recommended for all, especially those who love Dan Brown's previous works of The DaVinci Code and Angels & Demons

Like those two were, this one is also going to be a movie starring Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon Set to Release in 2016 titled Inferno

The Downhill slide continues

Dan Brown was was an exciting read. I was on the edge of seat and could not wait to get back to his earlier books. But I found Symbols disappointing and Inferno continues with that thought. It's not the worse story ever, but such a formula, it is getting boring. Paul Michael does a wonderful job, but with this story I found myself tuning out, which is not a good thing. I think Robert Langdon needs to rest now, try writing a different character.

Dark But a Good Read

I found the book to be surprisingly dark. Once the book got started, the characters came to life. The secrecy aspect gave the story a special twist.

Great Book

No Dan brown book will ever reach the level of The Da Vinci Code but Inferno is a good book overall. There is action from the very beginning to the end with twists and turns along the way. It is an entertaining book that saw the hours pass by quickly. A good listen.

Typical Brown: Lots to think about

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, if they have liked other Dan Brown books. The DaVinci Code is my favorite.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

There was too much jumping around to get TO the ending.

Have you listened to any of Paul Michael’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

He's a good reader, and does Dan Brown very well.

Any additional comments?

The reader makes the book, and in this case, the reader was really better than the story. But like other Dan Brown books, this one sent me to Google to do more research. His books really make the reader reader/listener think, and I like that in a book.

One of the worst Dan Brown books I have ever had.

Any additional comments?

This story never got going, sounded more like a guidebook and then the ending just made the book that much worse. Well you can't always get a good novel. I don't know how this one has such good ratings.
