#1 WORLDWIDE BESTSELLER • Harvard professor of symbology Robert Langdon awakens in an Italian hospital, disoriented and with no recollection of the past thirty-six hours, including the origin of the macabre object hidden in his belongings.

“One hell of a good read.... As close as a book can come to a summertime cinematic blockbuster.” —
USA Today

“A diverting thriller.” —
Entertainment Weekly

With a relentless female assassin trailing them through Florence, he and his resourceful doctor, Sienna Brooks, are forced to flee.

Embarking on a harrowing journey, they must unravel a series of codes, which are the work of a brilliant scientist whose obsession with the end of the world is matched only by his passion for one of the most influential masterpieces ever written, Dante Alighieri's The Inferno.

Dan Brown has raised the bar yet again, combining classical Italian art, history, and literature with cutting-edge science in this captivating thriller.

Fantastic Book with a Wonderful Narrator!

I absolutely loved this book. My wife bought me the illustrated edition for Christmas a couple of years ago (Christmas before last) and I just got around to finally reading before last Christmas. Many things came up, including illness, and I just finished it today. I read the print version of the book while listening to the audiobook.

The narrator is wonderful! It was never difficult to tell who was speaking during a dialogue scene. Even his female voices were quite distinguishable from each other. His pacing was just right for me; not too fast and not too slow.

I have read all of the Robert Langdon series of books by Dan Brown, and this is easily his best one since the DaVinci Code, which I also have in audiobook.

As the book opens Robert Langdon is in the hospital in Italy having been shot in the head. When he wakes up he finds that he cannot remember anything about the last couple of days. He meets Dr. Sienna Brookes when he wakes up, but barely has a chance to get his bearings and figure out where he is before a gunman enters the hospital and starts shooting up the place while gunning for Langdon. Sienna helps him escape the hospital, and this is where the adventure around Italy begins.

This book should NOT be missed. There are so many twists and turns and Robert Langdon is never sure who to trust or when to trust them. Fans of Dan Brown will not be disappointed by Inferno. If you can, get the illustrated version which has tons of pictures of the places and objects that Robert and Sienna encounter along the way.

Best of the Bunch

I am a big fan of Dan Brown's books. I think this one is the best of the bunch so far. The action begins immediately and never stops. I hated that I kept reaching my driving destinations so quickly, so I had to start listening at home which I never do. LOL.

Worth a listen of you are a Brown fan.

This is enjoyable- if.you are familiar with Brown's Langdon and storytelling arc's. Not quite as good as The Lost Symbol- but a good companion for a long car ride.

Better than Angels and Demons

Dan Brown writes some really trite sentences, so if you don't mind that, go ahead and listen. Actually, listen to Paul Michael is better than reading. Of course, a person reads Dan Brown for the historical oddities and tidbits. At least I do, and there is enough in here to keep one's interest. I like to that the repercussions of this so-called terrorist attack or not completely ignored or undone at the end of the novel. If you've read it, you'll know what I mean. Dan Brown sticks to his guns there.

So this book is kind of fun if you keep your expectations restrained.

Another Dan Brown Book

Where does Inferno rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Paul Michael is a great narrator however, if you are sleepy, his voice is very soothing and it will put you to sleep. I enjoyed this book overall.

What did you like best about this story?

The scenery was very vivid, almost as if you are taking a trip to Europe. The details of ancient buildings and art is described very well.

What does Paul Michael bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Pronunciations that may be hard to read.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, its much to long and I needed time to digest the imagery portrayed.

Any additional comments?

Overall it is written in a very Dan Brown style, lots of historic mystery intertwined with drama. I enjoyed this book more than the last.
