"Looking forward to the movie also"

At 17 hours + it's a little bit longer than I expected. But at 17 hours + it was perfection. Having traveled myself too many of these places, I was easily able to follow the story in my mind's eye. I found myself listening to Inferno during the evenings, out on the porch, during the days at the beach, and sometimes relaxing before bed. Although I would say this probably isn't the best relaxing book as some scenes get pretty intense. But that's what made it fun. I've read most of Brown's books. This one is a winner again.
I'm really looking forward to seeing the movie... A definite recommend from me. A+

    "All around okay."

I liked the story, but it was not exceptional. I liked the narrator, but I did not find his performance particularly exceptional.

Overall, I'll remember that I read it and the general plot, but I found it to be a pretty unmemorable book.

"Sick idea in a great setting"

The story is a mix of Star Wars, Adolf Hitler, Jack Reacher adventures and wonderful descriptions of art, artist, exploration into Dante and history. I added a few places to visit to my bucket list after listening. But the underlining premise, genetic alterations to fit the ideas of another and reaction to this situation is frightening. As an avid art lover I cannot recommend the book enough but as a historian who respects the past this book is unsettling. If you can just enjoy part of a book then this is for you but if you take the book as a whole and think about what Dan Brown is saying then avoid it!

more credible plot,a bit complicated yet predictable.

Which character – as performed by Paul Michael – was your favorite?

    Siena

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    No

    Any additional comments?

Its a good read, but not as good as the first. Move on

    "Good Story, Excellent Narration, Predictable"
Would you try another book from Dan Brown and/or Paul Michael?

Possibly, after reading two others the writer has become predictable.

Would you be willing to try another book from Dan Brown? Why or why not?

Possibly, after reading two others the writer has become predictable.

    Which scene was your favorite?

The location information and historical information is always a plus.

    Any additional comments?

This series seems to be the same basic premise over and over again. They're not a bad read at all, but if you've read one you will quickly predict what will happen in the next.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

That it takes the author 2 pages to say the obvious things we already know are coming.

    Any additional comments?

It's now clear to me that Dan Brown only has about 50 pages of a story and then adds so much filler that you find yourself yelling at the iPod to just get on with it. Paul Michael is good but I now associate him with Dan Brown endless rambling to fill enough pages for his publisher. Shame on me. I was through my wish list and new I'd be disappointed but I wasted my credit anyway.

    "SO good... then the ending..."
What did you love best about Inferno?

I love how Dan Brown weaves history and conspiracy together so effortlessly.

What other book might you compare Inferno to and why?

Naturally, Dan Brown's last book (The Lost Symbol) comes to mind - but I enjoyed this one much more.

    Any additional comments?

I was telling everyone to read this book long before I finished because of how much I was enjoying it. Then the plot came to it's climax... and the big reveal happened... and then the book ended. I was so unhappy with the ending - and unfortunately that's literally all I can say! No spoilers here - just one man's opinion that the ending is a very difficult conclusion to accept. I'm not sure how I wanted it to end; but it certainly wouldn't have been like this.

"It's not his best work, but it's ok."
Where does Inferno rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I've read Davinci Code, Angels and Demons, the lost symbol. This would be at the bottom of the list.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

    It was cleaver.

Have you listened to any of Paul Michael’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I don't remember. But he is very good.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    Not really.

    Any additional comments?

The other books centered the story in something important or that people is or was always intrigued. This one over population and Dante Aligieri is the main issue. Not as interesting as the previous ones. (I'm not saying that is not important, just not good for this type of book)

    "Wait For The Movie"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The entire story felt like a screenplay. The historical data is very informative, but not enough to carry the plot. It was so tedious to listen to. I had to stop 3 times, I finally made myself complete the book during my holiday. Please wait for the movie the narrator's historical read is great but the character were lacking...but I think that was primarily due to the author.

    "New title same story"

Personally I do not like Dan Brown so may be my review of this audiobook will be prejudiced.
Some people presume that DB is an author who can be related to intellectual literature. Well, they are misled. DB is not a genius or even talanted author, he is a seller who knows what kind of fake questions need to be raised in order to have a comlete sellout, even though it is far from any truth or supported facts (example - The Da Vinci Code).
This time the main topic is overpopulation and its importance for humankind. Sounds interesting and modern... But Inferno is just another bare sensation created by DB. Plot, characters, twists are almost identically similar to his previous novels. The ending is unconvinsing and dubious. In my opinion Brown's main mistake is that he prefers to give his conclusions too openly and these conclusions as for me are often very primitive and irrelevant. I do not need to know somebody's views but want to listen/read a book with at least some meaning. Another important issue is stupidity of the characters - their lifelong problems, that accoding to DB ruined their lives, are farfetched (esp for Siena). Last but not least - by completing that book I had an impression that the author forgot what he was writing in the beginning, the plot is unfolded very poorly. No respect to the listener/reader at all.
The only advantage of this book is the setting - Florence, Venice, Istanbul - it transfers this empty and simple story into a marvelous adventure (although an imaginary one). Only due to this locations the book is worth listening/reading.
As to the performance - Paul Michael is an experienced DB narrator and surely Inrefno did not give him a hard time. His voice is not fluctuating and accent immitation along with necessary stresses are also in the right place. So in my view he has done his job pretty well.
Overall impession of this audiobook is good, I will not listen to it again but in the process of listening I definitely was not bored (sometimes irritated by the author but not bored), the performance was entertaining.

Just a really poor repetive story. Sections of the text were repeated word for word in consecutive chapters

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. It reads (or "listens" in this case) very easily, and you feel like you are inside the book from page one. Even though a lot of things are shrouded in mystery right up untill the end

What did you like best about this story?

Robert Langdon, the main character, will be travelling to many different places. The awesome thing about this book is that these places actually exist, and Robert being a professor of History at Harvard will tell you so many interesting things about various buildings, paintings even cities. When you actually travel to these places, you can relisten the book even just for the great descriptions of art. This combined with a thrilling and twisting plot gives you an awesome listen.

Have you listened to any of Paul Michael’s other performances? How does this one compare?

    n.a.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    "The darkness ahead for humanity"

What made the experience of listening to Inferno: A Novel the most enjoyable?

A wonderful insight into Florence, after hearing this book I would love to visit Florence, it is almost like q tourist guide.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Inferno: A Novel?

It is a bit like Bourne Identity where the main character has to back trace his steps to find out what has previously happened.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

The moment where Prof. Langdon realizes who the thief is.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, most definitely just didn't have the opportunity

    "Disappointingly unreal"
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No, I was disappointed with the loss of reality, Dan Brown seems to have lost it

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

yes, I must admit to Googling Dante's inferno , however the storyline lost interest when characters who were believed dead, suddenly appeared and admitted to being actors engaged solely for a performance to convince the hero they had been shot ???

Which scene did you most enjoy?

the facts , historical and religious as usual are well documented , however the story was too unbelievable

Could you see Inferno being made into a movie or a TV series? Who would the stars be?

    The Narration was quite good

    Any additional comments?

I won't buy the next Dan Brown solely on His name , as I have in the past. This storyline was too far from reality

What did you like best about this story?

Pure Dan Brown. Lve the story, the historical facts and how they can be intertwined so artistically.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I couldn't wait to get back ton it every time I put it down and felt very sorry when it was over.
