USA Today

Highly appreciate and recommend

Loved this story. Dan Brown is excellent in describing surroundings and facts while still keeping the action alive.

Mediocre story at best!

Apparently there is not a superlative that Dan Brown is not willing to use and use it multiple times! His repetition of various scenes and descriptions implies the reader can't remember anything so repeat it again and again! The plots and twists are just plain silly. Mr. Brown appears to be a competent tour guide and historian but badly needs guidance in the realms of medicine and science. I thought the reader did s great job unfortunately he had to work with a dog of a book.

This story will keep you guessing until the end...

I began this book having seen a scene on YouTube by mistake. This simple clip confirmed the book is different from the movie. Personally I like the book over what I saw in a 3 minute clip. The story begins with the main character once more was trying to solve a puzzle he really didn't want to intend to find himself in. He finds help right from the beginning as he begins the journey he's going on. As with all previous books I have read by the author this one is factually true when he states something. It was fun watching the characters solve the puzzles while taking us along with them. I enjoyed the character interaction as well as how the author hid in plain sight what was really going on in the story. If you don't keep the story in parts and see how they cover what is really happening. Once one is let out in the open they all can begin to show themselves. In the end the story showed the truth which was not an expected ending. I would have changed one part of the ending, but it's all good the way it ended. Read this book just like the author's last three books without issue and enjoyment!

Not entirely unexpected tale from this author.

Would you consider the audio edition of Inferno to be better than the print version?

I have not read this book but the narrator was brilliant, and kept me listening.

Would you be willing to try another book from Dan Brown? Why or why not?

I have read all his books, that is why it was rather predictable.

What does Paul Michael bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Brilliant portrayal his interpretation, accents, and narration were extremely good.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

NO. became rather tedious.

Should have been Better

As a long-time fan of Dan Brown, I eagerly awaited his newest book. The book attempted to cover too much territory. Inferno dealt with such issues as transhumanism, genetic engineering, and global overpopulation. (It seems that such issues should be studied in an academic treatise rather than a fictional book.)
As a result, the plot of the story seemed to suffer. The storyline was basically linear in nature. For example, near the beginning of the story when Professor Landon and his companion were attempting to escape their pursuers, they passed through several monuments and sculptures. Mr. Brown described each in detail, noting its history as well as a detailed physical description. Areas of the novel read like a travelogue while others read like a history book.
There was an attempt at the book’s end to tie in the overarching theme of Inferno with those inherent in Dante’s work. There is where I found the Dan Brown I have so enjoyed over the years. Too bad that same spirit does not dominate the book in its entirety.

Filled with twists and turns

I loved it. I'm sorry it had to end! Every time I thought I knew what was happening, I was wrong.

Meh!

I am beginning to realize that I have a love/hate relationship with Dan Brown's writing. I was very excited about this book. I pre-ordered it and started it as soon as I could. This book is nerdtastically researched and he connects dots creatively. In this book though the leaps of imagination are a little hard to take. Without giving any plot points away, I'll just say that it felt a little like a bad soap opera. Even for a sci-fi-thriller lover such as myself I had a problem with how far he had to reach to get the story to straighten out. I wouldn't call it a waste of a credit but it won't be one I ever re-read.
