Publisher's summary

#1 WORLDWIDE BESTSELLER • Harvard professor of symbology Robert Langdon awakens in an Italian hospital, disoriented and with no recollection of the past thirty-six hours, including the origin of the macabre object hidden in his belongings.

“One hell of a good read.... As close as a book can come to a summertime cinematic blockbuster.” —
USA Today

“A diverting thriller.” —
Entertainment Weekly

With a relentless female assassin trailing them through Florence, he and his resourceful doctor, Sienna Brooks, are forced to flee.

Embarking on a harrowing journey, they must unravel a series of codes, which are the work of a brilliant scientist whose obsession with the end of the world is matched only by his passion for one of the most influential masterpieces ever written, Dante Alighieri's The Inferno.

Dan Brown has raised the bar yet again, combining classical Italian art, history, and literature with cutting-edge science in this captivating thriller.

Dan's Dante is Firing on all cylinders

Would you listen to Inferno again? Why?

Great story. My husband and I loved the travelogue style and the history of the Medici's and Dante. Made me at Florence and Venice to my bucket list and will attempt to read Dante again.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Robert, of course, he has so much depth and knowledge.

A novel

This novel by Dan Brown is really thought provoking. The first thing to remember is that this is fiction even though the characters deal with real world issues in real world places.

Paul Michael IS the voice of Robert Langdon. Exceptional work by Paul.

Dan, thank you for entertaining me through commutes to work, waiting in line and during my knitting. I appreciate the different perspectives of the world and the problems our whole globe shares.

Sometimes I can't get over how big government has grown and why I need a building inspector to review my chicken coop. Then I read a novel like this and want to let my small city know there are far bigger problems in the world. This novel is a good, intensive read that is so grasping it is very hard to put down your player. Sunday afternoon is not the time to start this novel, Monday morning still will come and work won't be happy when you call in tired and claiming you still have a few hours left of this book. :-)

Good when there is suspense

I like Dan Browns books about Robert Langdon. Unfortunatly I don't find Langdons profession all that interesting, and when he goes off on his lectures it gets boring. I don't know how long it actually took but it felt like I've spent two hours listening to one lecture he was remembering. Sometimes I think Dan Brown could use a tougher editor. But the suspense parts are really good. I will very likely buy his next book as well.

Thought provoking as well as entertaining

The vivid imagery and constant action with twists and turns were wonderful. Who needs television when there are stories like this?

Lacks content but great topic!

Would you consider the audio edition of Inferno to be better than the print version?

Likely but depends on the reader. I prefer listening to books, especially this kind.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Felicity Brooks. She plays both sides of the issue and doesn't reveal everything until much later.

Which scene was your favorite?

When he was watching a videotape of himself for which he could not remember what he had done.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, like all Dan Brown books.

Typical Dan Brown thriller

What did you love best about Inferno?

Easy to follow and pick up whereever I had to stop. Goes by very quickly.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked the twist at the end; like other Dan Brown books it is fairly easy to figure out where it's leading but in this case there was one detail I did not see coming.

What about Paul Michael’s performance did you like?

Very easy to understand: he spoke clearly and used different voices for each character (although sometimes there was not a lot of differentiation between them).

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

It's not what you think it is...
