Publisher's summary

#1 WORLDWIDE BESTSELLER • Harvard professor of symbology Robert Langdon awakens in an Italian hospital, disoriented and with no recollection of the past thirty-six hours, including the origin of the macabre object hidden in his belongings.

“One hell of a good read.... As close as a book can come to a summertime cinematic blockbuster.” —
USA Today

“A diverting thriller.” —
Entertainment Weekly

With a relentless female assassin trailing them through Florence, he and his resourceful doctor, Sienna Brooks, are forced to flee.

Embarking on a harrowing journey, they must unravel a series of codes, which are the work of a brilliant scientist whose obsession with the end of the world is matched only by his passion for one of the most influential masterpieces ever written, Dante Alighieri's The Inferno.

Dan Brown has raised the bar yet again, combining classical Italian art, history, and literature with cutting-edge science in this captivating thriller.

Classic Robert Langdon

Robert Langdon returns to save the day again. All of the excitement and intrigue you're used to from Dan Brown in a thrilling performance. Only downside is the difficulty of picturing real art and architecture without seeing it.

Nice touristic guide of Florence

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

No, again more of the same, Langdon and Partner chased and in mortal danger, meanwhile exchanging knowledge and showing touristic and other details.

Would you ever listen to anything by Dan Brown again?

I already didn't finish The Lost symbol. No more Dan Brown.

Which scene was your favorite?

no favorite

Was Inferno worth the listening time?

Nothing new on the Divina Comedia, maybe some interesting details on the City of Florence

Any additional comments?

Dan Brown should change his style. Real people don't speak nor act like his characters in this book. Digital Fortress was much better.

Better than the Da Vinci Code!

What made the experience of listening to Inferno the most enjoyable?

This story is so full of fascinating backstory that you learn and enjoy the learning as you go. The action is fast-paced, but not witless action as sometimes happens. Dan Brown Brown enlightens us about a great classical writer in a way that brings his humanity fore front and his lifetime intriguing in its rich colors.

What other book might you compare Inferno to and why?

Certainly as much fun as Angels and Demons and Da Vinci Code, but rich and rewarding to anyone who has ever sat in an English class and read any part of Dante's works. It makes sense of the man and time.

Any additional comments?

I was sorry when the story concluded. It was a great ride.

Quick Listen but Lacks Punch

Since The Da Vinci Code, Dan Brown has been a consistent seller. I've loved his previous books and expected a similar thriller laced with the fascinating history of symbology Brown ties through all his books. It raced by quickly as all his books do and kept my attention well but I felt the story was missing the intensity of his previous books.

Novelist & Narrator

A good novel delivered by Dan Brown; definitely an enjoyable read. Angels and Demons and The DaVinci Code are still my favorites but don't let them take you away from this book. Paul Michael does an excellent job bringing the reader/listener into the midst of Robert Langdon's exciting journey. Recommended for anyone who enjoys a little history with their fictional stories.

Good book

I really liked the boom. As always, Dan Brown's writing is great. However the performance by the reader was worse than other books I've enjoyed. Overall, satisfied.

Fun Summer Listening

Would you try another book from Dan Brown and/or Paul Michael?

As always Dan Brown is fun to listen to but his hero is getting way over the human level...definitely into the realm of Super Hero status.

If you’ve listened to books by Dan Brown before, how does this one compare?

They're all outlandish fluff. Good for listening while gardening but not worth reading

Have you listened to any of Paul Michael’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Paul Michael saves this book. I always enjoy his performances.

Did Inferno inspire you to do anything?

Not a thing but laugh at many of the situations.
