Love having someone read me a story. Fires in the hearth, rain on the roof, sunny days and surf. Good friends, good food and J S Bach.

    Story
    "Moody, Bluesy and well read"

There is not a lot of jazz in this story and I can still almost hear it behind the voice of Stephen Greif all the way through .

It is a story set in the world of painters, poets crooks and thugs.

Maybe a little trendy with Tuscany and Sav Blanc and maybe a jump to right into a willing suspension or maybe just an odd surprise here and there.

My first John Harvey and a great change of pace from my other mysteries, so I now have a couple more JH on my wish list.

But how did John Harvey convey Jazz through prose?and voice?

This is a 'second listen story' for me as I try and discover how he did that.
