Raw & Real

I absolutely love Joe Picket so perhaps I am biased, but this is is a extremely well read audio book, the listener can hear the pain and emotion that only David Chandler can display. The story itself is intense, real and super raw. It is graphic and cutting edge. I highly recommend!! A++

Another satisfying C.J. Box tale

One of C.J. Box's best.

Rich lady rancher disappears leaving three wild and nutso sons, thought-dead foster daughter's real daddy comes to the area to avenge the crimes of Winterkill, Sheridan Pickett once again in the middle of it all, family featured prominently - this has all the best ingredients of C.J. Box's plotting, and is more realistic than the previous two in the series. The plot also sets up circumstances for future plots and draws us further in to the Pickett family.

gratuitous violence

We put down this book after the first chapter for all the gratuitous violence and foul language denigrating women.

In a word … suspenseful !!!!

This the 6th book in the C.J. Box Joe Picket series. I don't think I can rate any of them as my favorite because they are all so good. But "In Plain Sight" kept me on the edge of my seat and listening for hours after I should have stopped and gone to bed. It is so suspenseful and David Chandler (the narrator) does such a great job by changing voices for different characters and his style helps make the book so thrilling and suspenseful. I'll probably list to this one again … it was THAT GOOD!!!

Really a great listen

Would you consider the audio edition of In Plain Sight to be better than the print version?

The way the author can discribe the simplest things for a eletric heater to the dust created by a spooked Pronghorn. C.J.Box makes the book very educational, very entertaining and suppensfull. Can't to listen to the next in the series. Recomend highly if you like to hunt and fish or concerned with the issues of saving the wilderness.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, Nate adds an edgy side to the story

Which character – as performed by David Chandler – was your favorite?

Nate,

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes if possible. A great traveling book. Still great to listen in 10 to 20 minute intervals if you can shut it off. I will wait in my parking stall to hear what happens

Any additional comments?

I highly recommend it . The way he describes the sun, wind, light and feeling of the environment is amazing.

A story of vengeance.

The thing I loved most about this story is that it involves someone coming to Saddlestring to get revenge on Joe for some things that happened in prior books, rather than the usual big environmental issues that involve government bureaucracy and things like that. The issues in this book are personal to Joe and his family. I've loved every book in this series thus far, and I think that this is one of the better ones. David Chandler continues to perfectly narrate this series, and his voices for Joe, Nate, and Sheridan are particularly fantastic.

Love Joe Pickett!!!

Kudos to CJBox for making Joe Pickett such an ordinary guy! He is flawed, he makes mistakes, he bleeds when he gets hurt, and he is all the more lovable because of it. It’s so easy to connect with him because we see a little bit of ourselves in every move he makes. We can relate 😊. I’m reading these books at the rate of 2 per week, and I’m loving every minute of it - except I’m dreading when there are no more 😩

a good story in the series.

lots of great character development of Joe Pickett in his entire family.... probably too violent for many people and if I'm sure they won't use this book in the TV series because it's a more male dominated story

Superior Story and Narration

This novel's characterizations of the Scarletts, the Elliotts, the Picketts, and Nate really great. Basic primal instincts: protect your family well done. The psychopath in the story reminds me there are psychopaths among us. Will get next book in series due to the high entertainment value of this book.

The narrator, David Chandler, superior; different accents, ages, gender really great.
