Another Excellent Cross Novel

I have read every Cross novel so far and this is the 3rd one I have enjoyed by listening to it on a long trip across country. The story is excellent and helps pass the time because it keeps you captivated! If you are a Patterson fan, don't hesitate to get it.

There was just something missing about the character development. I enjoyed the book overall though and would recommend to a friend.

Another great story in the Cross series!

I loved the story but the voice for Cross, I wasn't a fan. He read with little emotion. There were times you could tell there should be pauses for effect but he's just reading. Other than that, I look forward to the next book.

Enjoyable

This was the first Patterson book for me and I enjoyed listening to it. However, it did not really stand out to me as a book that I would go back and read again. Nor do I plan to go looking for other Patterson books to listen to. It was generic enough that I have trouble even remembering the major points of the story line. It was a decent listen, but came across as a standard run-of-the-mill whodunit with typical twists in the story line. Listen to it for 1 credit? Maybe if you have too many credits saved up. Otherwise, wait for the movie to come out and go to DVD so you can rent it for $2.

A good Patterson, but

Generally standard Patterson, moves well and demands attention but, could be just as good without as much gore. Dead is dead, the brutality seems to increase with each new work. This seems to be a common trait with most of the crime writers that I read and not necessary with a good story.

Enjoyable listen.

I was just about to lose faith in Patterson, but at least he has kept the integrity of Alex Cross unlike his other new books. Very good story and well read.
