Publisher's summary

A woman is found murdered in the woods with a very special watch on her wrist, and what seemed a simple case soon escalates into a nightmare. The criminal methods of some of the most infamous killers of all time are being replicated by a new predator who stalks and strikes victims with a cunning brilliance. No one can understand the murderer's motives or who the next victim will be.

Drawn into this violent affair are two Secret Service agents turned private investigators, Sean King and Michelle Maxwell. Both have been hired to prove a man's innocence in a domestic burglary involving an aristocratic, if dysfunctional, family. Soon, stunning secrets will lead the partners into the middle of a frantic search for a killer unlike any they've confronted before.

As the Hour Game barrels forward, Sean and Michelle face a macabre puzzle and uncover one horrifying revelation after another. Nearing the truth, they will find that their own lives are in danger. And then they're hit with the biggest surprise of all. When you play the Hour Game, you have to play to win. But time is running out...for all of them.

In Hour Game, best-selling master storyteller David Baldacci has created his most mind-blowing and satisfying thriller yet.

Worth the download.

I enjoyed this book. There was a lot of characters in this novel to keep track of, so you really have to pay attention. It pays off, however, because you suspect every one of them. Great fun. This book was better than Split Second which originally introduced us to these characters. Baldacci is bringing Maxwell and King back yet again in his next novel (after Camel Club). That little tidbit of info was gleaned off his website's "ask the author" section.

This book keeps you guessing. Scott Brick's narration is so good it makes the experience much like sitting in a theater, watching this unfold on the big screen. Well worth the download!

Good but too many sub plots

I love king and Maxwell Hour Game was a bordered on the absurd. The sheer number of murders was a distraction from character development. I also missed having any true good guys in the lineup.

Must read!

The narrator truly brought this story to life ! With his change in voices and passion

The story it self !? Twist turns ups downs suspenseful the whole time. The detail the author takes in this books allows it to become reality and easy to relate with. Hope this becomes a movie one day

Disappointing

I think this author has been going downhill since his first and best, Absolute Power. Not a bad listen, but no sympathetic characters, a contrived plot, and I found it quite a stretch to believe that two people could shoot at each other at the exact same time so that their bullets collide! By the end I didn't really care who the villain was. This is OK if you can't find anything else to listen to, but there are better choices.

Another Home Run for Baldacci

I cannot get enough of this author. I look forward to more intrigue with the famous twists and turns that only Baldacci can tie together supremely at the end of his novels.

Great story, characters and twists

Baldacci knows how to tell a tale and let it unfold. Characters take the stage, plots thicken and there is always time to tell the story, uncover the secrets and give the evil-doer his just due!

Baldacci Continues to Deliver

One of his best books in my opinion. His intricate story details and the story development were spellbinding.
