Publisher's summary

Stone Barrington is back in the exciting new adventure from perennial fan favorite Stuart Woods.

It’s not often that Stone Barrington finds a woman as accustomed to the jet-set lifestyle as he, so he’s pleasantly surprised when he meets a gorgeous pilot who’s soon moving to New York, and available for closer acquaintance. Their travels together lead them from Wichita to Europe, but trailing them is some unwanted baggage: His new lady love’s unstable, criminal ex-boyfriend. And while Stone is fending off his newest adversary, trouble is brewing on the international stage. Several enemy operatives are at large, and only a coordinated intelligence effort will have any chance of stopping their deadly plot. But the clock is ticking...and time has nearly run out.

Disappointing and boring.

Lots and lots of uninteresting detail about Stone's new plane. Who cares? He jumps in and out of bed with any and all available women as usual. At least he spared us the graphic details this time. Of course they all find him irresistible and they are all drop dead gorgeous. Not much of a story, more about what exotic locations he travels to and what culinary delights he enjoys in what famous restaurants. Save your credit.

Too coincidental

Boring, boring, boring. The only reason we finished the book was to see if something might happen. It didn't. What a waste of time.

Boring

What did you like best about Hot Pursuit? What did you like least?

Too much avionics. Have read all the Barrington books and this is the most boring.

Fluff

What would have made Hot Pursuit better?

A story, with a real plot and less fluff and fill.

Has Hot Pursuit turned you off from other books in this genre?

Continue to look for good/great Stone Barrington books. The early ones were enjoyable.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Every characters voice sounded alike.

What character would you cut from Hot Pursuit?

All of them.

Any additional comments?

Not often we don't enjoy a book. This was one. It was as if Stuart Woods had to write a book and he took three minutes to do it.

not his best

I liked it, but maybe Woods,is getting a little too formulaic. And having the former president deliver the president's baby was truly unbelievable. It was way too hokey.

Thin

As is typical of these books, the only reason disaster doesn't reign is because of coincidence and mega amounts of blind luck. The ending was completely predictable and, if anything, boring. He's just cranky knees out now (or paying someone to crank them out for him). Snore...

Stone cold

Always a fan of Stone and this story doesn't disappoint. Alot of avionics discussed in the story but that just made it more interesting.

Another Fun Read

High adventure with fun turns and twists. The good guys win. Two new characters added that I hope we see more of in future books.

Okay, I guess, but disappointing

So, I loved Chiefs by Stuart Woods. I know the guy can write. I think he might have called it in on this one. It took it awhile to get going and there were two plots that I kept expecting to come together. Spoiler alert: They don't. Stone Barrington struck me as a lecherous and a little pompous old man. He could have been written completely out of the story and it wouldn't have made much difference. Millie was a good character. Perhaps he should base a series on her. Bottom line is that it wasn't awful, but I wish I hadn't used a credit on it.
