They install a sophisticated spy program on Adam's computer, and within days they are jolted by a message from an unknown correspondent addressed to their son: "Just stay quiet and all safe".
For Tia and Mike, the question they must answer is this: When it comes to your kids, is it possible to know too much?

Harlan Coben has written some of the best mysteries in the past couple of years, after having had a lot of success with his earlier Myron Bolitar novels with their mixture of fun and crime.
"Hold Tight" deviates a little from Harlan Coben's standard thriller formula, which is overall not a bad thing. Personal tragedies abound in a quiet New Jersey neighborhood, including a recent teenage suicide, which convinces the Bayes they should better monitor their son's online activities - and then he suddenly vanishes.
An excellent and complex story I would have gladly given the full five stars had the ending been not a bit too forced and over-the-top. Great reading by Richard Ferrone!
I love the Myron Bolitar novels (perfect escapism in my, uhm, audiobook), and Gone for Good was absolutely riveting. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Hold Tight. A lot of unlikely events happen to a group of interconnected wooden characters, and the denouement is disappointing. Mr Coben can do much better.
"OK for a typical thriller type"
Pretty easy to listen to, fairly typical of Harlen Coben's style. Enjoyable in that 'will they make it to the end' kind of way, and a good plot. Not extraordinary, or special, but worth a listen if you like a thriller.
"A fast-paced Thriller!"
Yes, though probably not for a while, I would have to forget all the twists so that I enjoy being surprised all over again.
I loved the many different plot lines and trying to figure out how they might join at the end. I also love the pace of Coben's writing, there isn't the waffly descriptions that other authors feel the need to indulge in and which ultimately detract from the intrigue.
The 'scene' when Lauren Mews was unexpectedly invited to reveal the inadequacies of her colleague and demonstrate her own skill.
A race for the truth.
The storyline kept me gripped all the way through. The characters were well developed and the relationships defined nicely. Performance was good. Overall an enjoyable book
