Publisher's summary

You have good reason to be afraid....

It was a case that haunts Bobby Dodge to this day - the case that nearly killed him and changed his life forever. Now, in an underground chamber on the grounds of an abandoned Massachusetts mental hospital, the gruesome discovery of six mummified corpses resurrects his worst nightmare: the return of a killer he thought dead and buried.

There’s no place to run....

Bobby’s only lead is wrapped around a dead woman’s neck. Annabelle Granger has been in hiding for as long as she can remember. Her childhood was a blur of new cities and assumed identities. But what - or who - her family was running from, she never knew. Now, a body is unearthed from a grave, wearing a necklace bearing Annabelle’s name, and the danger is too close to escape. This time, she’s not going to run.

You know he will find you....

The new threat could be the dead psychopath’s copycat, his protégé - or something far more terrifying. Dodge knows the only way to find him is to solve the mystery of Annabelle Granger, and to do that, he must team up with his former lover, partner, and friend D. D. Warren from the Boston PD. But the trail leads back to a woman from Bobby’s past who may be every bit as dangerous as the new killer - a beautiful survivor turned avenger with an eerie link to Annabelle.

From its tense opening moments to its shocking climax, Hide is a thriller that delves into our deepest, darkest fears. Where there is no one to trust. Where there is no place left to hide.

life lessons

A young woman finds herself alone after her father is killed in a car accident. Her life with her parents was sporadic and stressful, as they had lived on the run, moving frequently, changing names and cities each time her father perceived danger. Now she is questioning everything she thought she knew about her life as is slowly finding out the reasons they were on the run.

Loved!!

I first got hooked on Lisa Gardner after I started to read the book "I love you more." And being as it was a physical copy I had no idea it was part of a series.
I'm glad it was because that meant it there were more great books out there. So I looked up the order and even though this wasn't next, these were the characters I liked best from that book.

Finally the review:
The narrator was great! From the different age tones in her voice to different type, and style of Boston accent.
I was so hooked that the first day I listened for a few hours hours, and I finished it over thr course the following two; forcing myself to break in between to take a bite to eat.
I can only imagine how much better this audible would be if had at least one additional narrator the way her audio book "love you more" did,
jic you're wondering the titles and order of her books are as follows (including the link for the website I got them from):

AN EXCELLENT SEQUEL THAT STANDS ALONE VERY WELL!

"Hide* is the second installment in author Lisa Gardner's "Detective D.D. Warren's" chilling crime thrillers that follows the NY Times Bestseller: "Alone". As in "Alone", it is Massachusetts State Trooper and Task Force Sniper now "Homicide Detective" Bobby Dodge that is front and center- far more the protagonist than his once lover now boss- Detective D.D. Warren. That said; both characters are very likable, easy to route for, even when they are being distracted with sexual tension or mild bouts of jealousy; however, it doesn't drag out distracting from the story and the ever building suspense! Another character from "Alone" returns stirring emotions while adding unnerving intrigue and anxiety! As a stand alone read or listen without the benefit of having read "Alone" it is every bit as enjoyable! When scenes reflect back to "Alone" Lisa Gardner cleverly orchestrates her narrative quick; ckean, rythmatic congruence while never losing a beat!

Fantastic Book!!

I have never read more detailed, mystery, thrilling books before than with Lisa Gardner. Great story lines, and I love her characters. D.D. Warren, is a good cop, sarcastic as hell which makes her funny. From start to finish I am glued to the story, I have all of D.D. Warrens, books as well as Tessa Leoni, her stories are great as well.
Lisa Gardner, you have a fan for life! I love all of these stories. ❤❤❤❤❤
