Just Right

C.Johnson does not fill the book with empty descriptions just to make more money (paid by the word), every word in his stories only fill out the energy and the scenario enough to place the reader there!

In my experience, his situations ring true, no simpering, no impossible heroics, just believable motivation and action.

Brilliant beyond believe

It's not the plot that gets me, it's the words and the way the writer bring my my whirling into the story very surreal and incredibly joyful way. I cannot wait for my monthly read from Craig Johnson.

Sheriffs and Indians

Another interesting mix of lawmen and Indian lore in the finest Longmire tradition. Great performance by George Guidall.

Reminiscent of The Cold Dish

An immensely personal journey for Walt similar to the Dante's Inferno he's recalling along the way. George Guidall never disappoints and does an excellent job of bringing Hector's character to life in this book. I was especially impressed with the epilogue, so often the action ends and we assume the hero rides into the sunset(it is a western seeing after all) but this offered a look at the fallout from such an adventure.

Best Longmire yet!!

Oh my gosh what a fantastic book! I will not lie; I had a bit of trouble following the flashbacks to the boy but, wow, it was worth it. I like Virgil’s character so much and his presence brings a lot to the story. The narrator is perfect for this series and he really brings the story to life for me. The description of the mountains and the elk pulled at my heart. Just a good book all the way around.
