Not his best but not bad

Very enjoyable, dragged a bit at times but we'll worth the time. Virtually could not turn off the last few chapters. What's next?

One of my favorite books in this series

This is a masterful tale masterfully told. While at its core it is a detective mystery, this particular story elevates itself almost to an epic journey. Woven with snatches of Dante's Inferno almost as the Greek chorus of wisdom, this tale weaves an external hunt for a man consumed by evil voices, with both the internal and external journey Longmire takes as he battles the Wyoming elements
to pursue this man to justice, and right the wrongs committed against a young boy years before. There is a real beauty to his storytelling that weaves the two characters, both connected to the spirits of another reality, one for evil and one for good. But his descriptions of the Wyoming wilderness are equally captivating, and you find yourself on the mountain with him battling the cold. It is a must read to say the least. Maybe my favorite Longmire story and definitely in a league of its own in the mystery genre!

Best of series thus far

Hands down my favorite of the series to date. The reintroduction of Virgil and the entire story was remarkable. I’ve watched the Longmire series on Netflix and thought I was going to be bored with this book but it was so much better than the tv version.

This series never disappoints

The combination of Walt Longmire and all the occupants of Absaroka County, Craig Johnson's gripping, compelling storyline and George Guidall's stellar voice performance makes this a never miss series for me. God, I love these book-people so much! <3

Walt never gives up..........

Would you consider the audio edition of Hell Is Empty to be better than the print version?

Don't know as I have not read any of the Walt Longmire Books and don't plan to. Can't imagine NOT having George Guidall bring Walt Longmire to life.

Have you listened to any of George Guidall’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes I have and George Guidall is excellent!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The whole story....Walt never gives up!

Any additional comments?

Highly recommend this series!

A little different Longmire story

As always the Sheriff best friends are Indian. But this one has a lot of folk lore and some very interesting twists and turns. I think it is the best one up to this point in the series.
