Police are worried when a series of corpses show up in the San Diego area without their head or hands. They intensify their search to identify the bodies, hoping to find an explanation for the murders. Quickly a third victim turns up and then the fourth; the son of the San Diego Mayor, identified by a college swim team tattoo. Who is the killer? Why the murders?
One glaring clue is the professional way the decapitation is done. The medical examiner says it must have been done by someone skilled in surgery. A long list of clues including a Ford 158 pickup, transmission fluid, and an out-of-state drivers license lead the police closer to solving the crimes.

I really liked this story and I thought the author did a good job with the characters especially with the sexual tension between two of the main characters. Be warned however that the narrator is the worst I have ever listened to. It sounded like he was narrating the book while working around his kitchen or something. Between the background noises and his total inability to do a female voice I almost quit listening to the book. I will be sure that I NEVER buy another audiobook that uses this narrator for any part of the narration. It appears that the author intends on writing more in this series. I would advise him to get a different person to read his books. I would buy them if they we narrated by someone else. I won't buy them if they are read by this narrator.
The story is ok its hard to get past the narrator. You can here noise in the background and he cleared his throat while reading among other noises. I wont get anymore books with him reading them. Its hard to listen to his voice also. Not a smooth listen.
