Ever since Agnes' car accident, things have changed drastically for her. When she wakes up in the hospital, not only is her son, Stuart, there - who she hasn't seen in years - but a ghostly apparition!
Instead of getting ready for the loony bin, Agnes and Eleanor help ready the Butler Mansion for a grand opening as a bed and breakfast on Halloween, except they find the body of Katherine Clark. It's game on, as usual, for Agnes, except she now has a new partner, one who has remained silent and is - well - a ghost.
Agnes now struggles to keep her wits, keeping her ghostly companion a secret from Eleanor, not such an easy feat since Eleanor is sharp as a tack. Not only that, but where has Stuart been all of these years, and what is he up to?

Story was okay, but voices were so terrible it made it hard to get through. I have listened to some amazing audio books. This was NOT one of them.
Sci-fi, detective, cozy. Only give 5s to those books I think stand above the rest. 4 is a good solid book. 3 is average, nothing special.
The overall plot was OK but the dialog was simplistic. I suppose the author was going for humor but it just didn't work. The delivery didn't help, the ghosts voice was especially irritating.
I haven't yet read or listened to anything by Madison Johns that I haven't thoroughly enjoyed. Impressive!
This story flowed and captured my attention so totally that I literally forgot to eat.
A clever plot, skillful sleuthing, good partnerships, quite a bit of secrecy and we have an intriguing and most entertaining book.
Entertaining narration by Angel Clark in the audiobook.
I would thoroughly recommend this as a good read. Enjoy!
Angel Clark does an excellent job narrating this story, and if I had not already heard Toni Orans narrate "Armed and Outrageous", I probably would have been quite satisfied. However, now when I read any Agnes Barton story, I hear those vouces in ny head.
Addicted to audiobooks. Can't go a day without it. Makes housekeeping, cooking and hobbyist more interesting.
I really love it when an author writes books with seniors as main characters. To make it a mystery and comedy you have a winner.
Angela Clark is the perfect voice for this book. Love her characters the are individual and clear. I am a fan
Not much I can say without spoilers except it is truly a pleasure to read/listen too.
I was given this book by audiobook, the author and publisher in exchange for my Honest opinion.
No one. this is an awful book
I don't think so.
I only made it in a few chapters. Based on that, I did something I never do, I quit. It was that bad. I would chop the whole thing. I'm not a 'senior' and I was highly offended by the way the older ladies were portrayed.
Even though this is listed as the first in the series, it felt like these characters were already established and this book was in the middle of a series. Maybe a good editor could help this situation, or label it differently.
I want my money back
Reading with no hands!
Retirement is for the birds! Or so seems the attitude of our two senior protagonists in this series opener. Acknowledged by local law enforcement for their ability to get the criminal, they seem to be at the wrong place at the right time to insert their particular brand of snooping. Always balancing what they find out with what they can share and with whom, following their escapades is entertaining if not thrilling. Angel Clark gives a solid performance, though some characters are not as distinguishable as they could be. A good start for all.

Sorry to say, but this is not the author's finest effort. I am familiar with Agnes and Eleanor, but some things seemed out of sync with the things that I am familiar with. I think that someone new to the author would get bogged down rather quickly. I did not find this one as funny, either. All that being said, usually Agnes and Eleanor and their friends and not-friends have a good mystery and a lot of laughs, so don't give up on them!
This narrator is OK, but when one gets used to a previous one...
The story and characters were cute. I'm not much of a paranormal fan, so that's why I gave it an overall rating of 3 stars. I'll try one of the author's other books in the series and give it another try.
