Hard truth
very good... This was very good read the people and the suspense were good. The only problem with this one was it took a little long to get to the point of the story ,but when I thought about it the author almost had to do that to get the point across, so don't loose interest it comes around.and it's worth the wait...

Hard Subject
Even though I enjoyed the book the images of the children was a bit hard for me to take. It is different when things are happening in the adult world but children and animals really bother me on a different level.

Nevada Barr continues to explore new territories with Anna Pigeon. I enjoy the character very much & always look forward to new books. It's fun knowing I have other books to listen to as I catch up to Barr's more current work. As ever, exciting, hard-hitting, detailed & interesting. I'm onto the next book right now.

Too much like Steven King
I have enjoyed all of the Anna Pigeon series, but this one just goes too far. The story starts out with potential--missing children in the National Park, but then deteriorates into something like a Steven King novel for about the last 3 hours of the book. I won't give it away, and I was on the edge of my seat, but it was more gruesome that I wanted to hear.

Another excellent Anna Pigeon yarn.
Almost too creepy. Villain was a real monster. Good story kept me guessing longer than usual.

Definitely scary.
Creepy, creepy, crazy, and that isn't even the actual murderer. TW for childhood sexual trauma.
