Publisher's summary

After a lavish night of guilty pleasures in Monte Carlo, four best friends face an awful morning of arrests - and a fight for survival.

Only minutes after Abbie Elliot and her three best friends step off of a private helicopter, they enter the most luxurious, sumptuous, sensually pampering hotel they have ever been to. Their lavish presidential suite overlooks Monte Carlo, and they surrender: to the sun and pool, to the sashimi and sake, to the Bruno Paillard champagne. As the weekend moves into pulsating discos, high-stakes casinos, and beyond, Abbie is transported to the greatest pleasure and release she has ever known.

In the morning's harsh light, Abbie awakens on a yacht, surrounded by police. Something awful has happened: something impossible, unthinkable. Abbie, Winnie, Serena, and Bryah are arrested and accused of the foulest crime imaginable. And now the vacation of a lifetime becomes the fight of a lifetime - a fight for survival.

Guilty Wives is the ultimate indulgence, the kind of nonstop joy-ride of excess, friendship, betrayal, and danger that only James Patterson can create.

Guilty Pleasure For Sure!!

Where does Guilty Wives rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This was the first audio book I had listened too. Totally enjoyed it. Made the treadmill or elliptical machine go much faster!!

What other book might you compare Guilty Wives to and why?

Anything by Jackie Collins. I kept forgetting that James Patterson wrote this one-- so not his usual style.

Which character – as performed by January LaVoy – was your favorite?

Serena was a strong leading character. She took alot of abuse for standing up for herself and not letting the French government, the prison guards, her friends or family make her take the easy way out.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Not a moving book, but I enjoyed the twists and turns. Also, the secondary characters brought alot to the story.

Any additional comments?

Clever and resourceful heroine! Completely unrealistic, but still a fun "listen."

Great Read

Would you consider the audio edition of Guilty Wives to be better than the print version?

I wished I have time to read the print, I only listened to it.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I loved the story line and the plot. I couldn't believe the husbands could sit through trial! Almost got away with it.. almost.

What does January LaVoy bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Great Voice, great at keeping the right pitch at the right time. She helped keep you on the edge of the seat.

Great narration.

What does January LaVoy bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I've listened to several books that January LaVoy has narrated and find she is consistently good. What I particularly appreciated in this narration was her wonderful French accent!

Not Patterson's best

Delivery via Audible was perfect. The book was good, but not up to Patterson's usual "excelent" standard.

Maybe Patterson's Best Book

I really enjoyed this one. It's actually a pretty cliched jailhouse story of how some women were set up and thrown in prison unjustly. And then they had to (try to) survive. Great drama, great characters, and a satisfying resolution to the whole mess. I loved it!

interesting

I struggled to get into this book at first. most of the characters seemed so self centered and one dimensional. and the prison scenes were so horrific. but then it got very interesting and I was totally rooting for Abby

Couldn't Put it Down,...l

What did you love best about Guilty Wives?

OMG! I just finished listening to this today. I couldn't quit listening, no matter what I was doing. So, I pulled out my laptop and played solitaire....and kept listening. Whenever I'm in the car, going for a walk, or just playing solitaire, it's one of the best listens yet. Love you James Patterson!
lI also have audible books by Patterson on my Kindle, so I have two books going all the time. I'm addicted to reading. If you haven't listened to this one, Do it! You won't regret the length of time it takes to set the twist. Honest!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Guilty Wives?

The climax. Won't tell you.

Which scene was your favorite?

First look at Monte Carlo.
