Publisher's summary

After a lavish night of guilty pleasures in Monte Carlo, four best friends face an awful morning of arrests - and a fight for survival.

Only minutes after Abbie Elliot and her three best friends step off of a private helicopter, they enter the most luxurious, sumptuous, sensually pampering hotel they have ever been to. Their lavish presidential suite overlooks Monte Carlo, and they surrender: to the sun and pool, to the sashimi and sake, to the Bruno Paillard champagne. As the weekend moves into pulsating discos, high-stakes casinos, and beyond, Abbie is transported to the greatest pleasure and release she has ever known.

In the morning's harsh light, Abbie awakens on a yacht, surrounded by police. Something awful has happened: something impossible, unthinkable. Abbie, Winnie, Serena, and Bryah are arrested and accused of the foulest crime imaginable. And now the vacation of a lifetime becomes the fight of a lifetime - a fight for survival.

Guilty Wives is the ultimate indulgence, the kind of nonstop joy-ride of excess, friendship, betrayal, and danger that only James Patterson can create.

A Nail Biter

The story is no mystery, but it keeps you wondering how the heroine will get out of her mess and fight back. This is the classic tale of men who disrespect their wives, betray them, then are stunned and angered when they get a dose of their own medicine. Overall, I liked the story.

Comes through again

Had no idea what kind of book I felt like. This was in my wishlist for a while. Gave it a try. And was so pleasantly rewarded. I finished it by listening at home for nearly half of the book - normally it’s 100% in the car. But it got me so hooked and intrigued about the outcome that I couldn’t stop. Also very well performed. From the very beginning I had to Lee listening. Little fantasy-like during the trial with a few holes - but that’s also part of any fiction. Overall, absolutely recommend.

Great book for a newbie!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Just started listening to audiobooks & this was a great way to start. The reader was wonderful and kept the characters alive. The story was good and kept my interest . In fact my plan was to motivate myself to walk by listening to this book. But I enjoyed the book so much that i listened to it at other times as well. The only disappointment was the ending--it was pretty contrived but otherwise it was very enjoyable.

Better than many

It’s nice to read one of her books that isn’t dripping in wealth and lavishly decadent lifestyles. It was a good story. The only thing that was missing is that no recourse was taken with regard to the prison system and terrible physical abuse inflicted on inmates. The guards did not get their due. I was a little disappointed that was not addressed but otherwise, very good. hoping as much for that as finding who set them up.

Haven't listened before. Enjoyed this performance.

I generally cannot listen or read in one sitting, but I found it hard to put down when life's demands called for it.

I never write reviews, but this one deserves it...

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely!

Any additional comments?

Personally, all of the negative reviews are what made me want to write this... This was an excellent story & I hated that I could not listen to it all at once! It kept me wanting more & the narrator was spectacular! Please do not let the negative reviews turn you away... It is definitely worth a credit AND your time!!
