Publisher's summary

Twenty-something Harper Connelly has a gift. After being struck by lighting as a child, she discovered an eerie ability to locate the deceased.

In Memphis, skeptical Professor Nunley wants her to demonstrate her skill at an ancient cemetery. There, Harper stands atop a grave and says there are two bodies entombed: one centuries old, but the other, a young girl named Tabitha.

Her assertion holds water. Tabitha has been missing for two years - and now the police are suspicious of Harper. So with her loyal stepbrother, Tolliver, Harper begins to amass clues that will solve the case.

Wish the author was still writing these

Ever since Harper Connelly was struck by lightening, walking over a grave produces more than a creepy feeling. She can feel the dead, knows how they died. With her brother, Tolliver, at her side, they travel the U.S. using Harper's peculiar talent to find bodies. While in Mobile Alabama doing a demonstration for a college class, Harper finds a body she'd failed to find in Nashville, buried inside an older grave. A little girl named Tabitha. Coincidence. It had to be. But the coincidences start lining up and when the professor who hired Harper for the demonstration is the next body to occupy that hole, Harper and Tolliver are forced into detective mode. I love that Manfred made an appearance in this story. I've read the Midnight Texas series and can't wait for more of both these. Fingers crossed, as the author hasn't added any for some time. And isn't a Harper/Tolliver thing just destiny? I think so.

Pretty solid read

Definitely brought me back to the Sookie Stackhouse books I had fun this was an exciting read and kept me entertained my only complaint was that whoever edited the audiobook should’ve done a better job because there is a lot of clips that are not cut properly

Multilayered mystery

Wow. There were layers upon layers to this mystery and the personal lives of Harper and Toliver. Other types of psychic characters were introduced who were intriguing in their own right. I’d like to see a series based on Mangred

Just what one hopes for, spooky and a total joy!

I guess I am surprised on how much I have enjoyed this book and the author's writing. The characters are real and I have found myself wanting to know them even more. This is the second book, I enjoyed the first so much I went and bought this one right away. Surely the narration was a good part of why I enjoyed this book, it is excellent, and one that I look forward to with each of her books now! It is truly not light listening, but it isn't my usual book of science and mathematics, so it was a great break from my normal interest, one that I enjoyed.

Unfortunately I have attempted to either listen or read books like this, and found them just a disappointment, so when I found this such a well written book, great characters and such wonderful narration, I was very pleased with myself for trying the first one.

So if you like murder, ghosts, psychic and the paranormal, though the main character doesn't like the term "psychic", a story that weaves in and out of people lives, their motivations, their emotions and fears, then this is a good book to listen to, I believe. I am surely looking for more.

Good story. Really good narration. However...

I definitely recommend this author and I like the narrator, mostly ... I'm not sure how both this and the previous narration were released when you can very clearly hear the narrator taking a drink and swallowing quite frequently. It's very unpleasant and distracting when using headphones.

Loved it 💜💜💜!!!

Another great supernatural series, to bad it's not as long as the Sookie Stackhouse series. 😞.

great story. but the audible had technical issues

I love the story. but the audible sound like it kept skipping. I had to keep checking to see if I missed anything and as to why it was doing this. there's something wrong with the count from chapter to chapter.

Good book, horrendous editing

I really enjoyed the book, but the editing was so poor that I thought there was something wrong with the recording. I watched the timer to make sure, but it would cut off mid word and go to the next chapter.
