Publisher's summary

Grave Sight draws listeners into the intriguing world of Harper Connelly, a woman with a unique gift: she can "see" the deceased and how they died.

A teenage girl from a small Ozarks town is missing and feared dead. Hired by local police, Harper locates the girl's body in a nearby forest. But there's more than one corpse in those woods, and the second one raises questions no one wants to ask. Soon Harper and her stepbrother/assistant, Tolliver, are under suspicion. All they want is to get out of town, but they will have to clear their reputations first.

Charlaine Harris writes best-selling mysteries described by Booklist as "gripping and spicy", and praised by the Denver Post for their "goofy charm".

Critic reviews

"A strong debut that will have readers dying for more." (Booklist)
"Harris delivers a knuckle-gnawing tale populated with well-developed, albeit edgy characters. A nifty puzzle toward the end will challenge the most jaded mystery buffs." (Publishers Weekly)

Charlaine Harris at her best!

This is a great series... It will keep you guessing until the end! Every bit as good as Sookie Stackhouse.

Good mystery, Give reader a change!

At first I had a hard time getting started with this book. I found myself starting then changing to another audio. Once I gave it some time I enjoyed trying to figure out what type of book it was going to be. Mystery..? Supernatural? both? I think the problem was the reader, she seemed so dry in the beginning, but I think that is part of the story. By mid book I was very interested and trying to predict the end.
It turns out to be a Mystery that is started by Harper do to the fact that she can find bodies.

There are 4 books in the series so far. I will defiantly move to book 2.

Dead people, cops, and a girl struck by lightening

Harper Connelly finds dead people. After being struck by lightening as a teen, every time Harper gets near a dead body her head begins to buzz. When she finds the body, she sees the last thing they did; their death. Some think she's a fraud. Some think she's a psychic. After taking a case in Arkansas, someone wants her dead.

It's hard not to like a Charlaine Harris novel. I read the first seven of the Sookie Stackhouse books and I love the tv series Midnight. I stumbled across this book thinking it might be a midnight book. It wasn't, and I wasn't disappointed.

This was an audio read for me. I liked the narrator, but wasn't bowled over by her. Still made for a great listen.

Pleasantly surprised

I wasn't sure when I first started the book but found myself engaged and wanting more. I liked getting to know the main characters and the little parts of humor sprinkled in. I also enjoyed the narrators voice.

Good book

good book, I love mysterious but I have one complaint...this was a 20 something girl and the narrator sounds like a 60 something woman. kinda ruined the character for me.

Excellent

This was a great story from beginning all the way through to the end. It was well developed and had substance. This is a new twist on mystery for me, and I really liked this style.
About the narrator, I am thrilled to have found a great, female voice. It has been a while, since I have enjoyed a female narrator that was interesting and engaging. Rich tones and the ability to evoke emotions without going over the top. Male and female characters were easily defined through subtle changes in tone and cadence.

Harper is Great

I have read all of Charlaine Harris's series. Harper has a unique twist. I sadly started this series with book two and three not realizing that I wasn't on book one. This book sets up Harper's life and her relationship with Tolliver perfectly. Now I understand more of what I read before.

Though the mystery was a tad predictable it was still a very enjoyable story.

Drags a bit

A bit dreary. A bit of humor here and there would have broken it up a bit.
