Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden has had a rough couple of weeks. As the only openly practicing professional wizard in the Chicago area, he has squared off against a multitude of supernatural bad guys. audio version, listened/read too

Not kindle unlimited, roommate has these various ways, working thru them, various formats but many on kindle, some also on audio for first few so will do review on those separately as well {taking a bit because having to do review on amazon, goodreads, audible at least while that lasts}

In all his years of supernatural sleuthing, Harry Dresden has never faced anything like this: the spirit world's gone postal. These ghosts are tormented, violent, and deadly. Someone-or something-is purposely stirring them up to wreak unearthly havoc. But why? If Harry doesn't figure it out soon, he could wind up a ghost himself.

best in the genre

Great mix of the underworld, wizardry, mystery, and storytelling, the background being the present.

a tale of chills and fangs.

a tale for the ages and really one of the best in the Dresden line of books. there is something strange in the neighborhood and who do they call? harry Dresden and his friend Michael knight of the cross. holy sword and mesmerizing magic join forces in this story to fight off the evils of the spirit world but these rampant ghosts or only the tip of what is going on in the deep dark depths in the city of Chicago.

Okay so far

I feel like the author struggled a bit of how to start this book. I think he could have started with what he put as a flashback. Overall I love the series so far. I like Michael. 😌 Can't wait for book 4.

Best new characters EVER!

Michael is introduced in chapter one, and is one of the best parts of this book. A friend told me that he is in the next few books at least, and I am SOOO excited about it. Guy really gives a nice juxtaposition to Harry's ethically questionable methods with his holy roller ideology. Really good, and would love to see a spin off book from Michael's perspective.

Jim Butcher at his best

Easily one of the best of the series. Finish this book before judging the rest of the series. One and two are just good, three through the current are truly great.
