Amazing cozy mystery!

During a very rainy storm, a stranger knocks on Flora’s door, just to leave running at the sight of her. Short time after, this man appears dead, but he won’t be the only one.

I absolutely love this series! And this book is no exception. I enjoy any cozy mystery due to their light nature and the guesswork I have to do while I listen to them, but this series has more interesting elements than most: Not only the characters are quite interesting, but the plots are usually quite convoluted, and they catch my attention from the start. There are usually also quite some surprises along the way, and there is more risk and danger involved than in other cozy mysteries.

I thoroughly enjoyed this one, while also discovering more about some of the characters’ past. As in previous books, a natural disaster is again an important character in the story, adding an extra layer of excitement. I just can’t get enough of these adventures!

I have to confess that the only reason I tried this series was because of Michelle Babb, and I am happy that I did! She is one of my favorite narrators and she has a natural talent to bring characters to life and make stories shine. I could listen to her telling me stories for hours on end.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Grave Heritage

Grave Heritage: Darcy & Flora Cozy Mystery, Book 4
: Blanche Day Manos

A cozy mystery that gives the listener just about anything they might want. Old familiar friends and family are back along with several new characters. We get murder, suspense , romance, things that vanish, other things that go bump in the night. Toss in nasty weather, people from the past and serve with pie and coffee for an entertaining listen! I can't wait to see what comes next.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Michelle Babb adds the winning touch to this book.

Terrific narrator!

amateur sleuth, women sleuths, murder investigation, cozy mystery

The publisher's blurb gives hints and there is no need for spoilers, several other reviewers have given a potted version of the plot. The author always gives a good twisty tale with no gratuitous erotica but with a solid plot and very realistic characters, and this one is a good example of her craft. So grab your caffeine, lounge a bit and enjoy!
I lucked out and got the audio delightfully narrated by Michelle Babb. If anyone can make a good book even better, it's Ms Babb!

Pleasing Cozy Mystery

I enjoyed book 4 in the "Darcy & Flora Cozy Mystery" series. In this book, Darcy and Flora are drawn into a murder investigation, plus they have to contend with Mother Nature. Old mysteries are solved, and new friends are introduced in this complicated story. Michelle Babb's narration was lovely and gave the characters a voice which helped to make them seem more real. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Mystery Follows

Poor Darcy seems to attract mystery and murder. New comers to Levi raise suspicion and intrigue that once again affects Darcy and Flora who get involved in solving the murder mysteries surrounding these new arrivals. This also means elements of their past ancestors are revealed. Michelle Babb works her narrative magic.

A cozy mystery that's truly cozy

Darcy Campbell and her mother, Flora Tucker, are back in another murder mystery in Ventris County, Oklahoma.

In the midst of a violent storm, a stranger is murdered in an isolated and now-abandoned shack. Except this man is not a stranger; he is soon identified as Pat Harris's long-missing husband, Walter. Their son, Jasper, has, as he often does for reasons that make sense to him, vanished into the woods, making him by normal standards an obvious suspect.

When a friend is the next person to die, it gets harder and harder for Darcy to listen to the insistence of Grant, the local sheriff, that she leave the investigation to him and his deputy. The new preacher goes missing, Ventris River and Lee Creek are flooding, food is vanishing from the Jenkins twins' home--what's going on? Is the supernatural as well as human mischief involved?

I really like Darcy, Flora, and their neighbors and friends. We continue to learn more about the history that ties them to the Jenkins family, and Darcy, at loose ends since the death of her husband, which brought her back to Ventris County, is beginning to get her feet back under and find her new direction. It's an enjoyable mystery, and an enjoyable series.

As always, Michelle Babb does an excellent job narrating, putting life into all the characters.

Recommended.

Great Story With Perfect Narrator

Blanche Day Manos has crafted another great mystery in her Darcy and Flora series. Darcy and Flora are a well crafted daughter and mother living in a small town in Oklahoma. They are well rounded characters who still have room to grow. Darcy's love interest Grant is the county sheriff and her high school sweetheart. Grant is slowly growing and becoming a more prominent character that will and can grow in future books. The plot is intriguing and has lots of twist and turns. The story keeps you interested to the very end.
Michelle Babb is the perfect narrator for this series. She brings Darcy and Flora to life. Her overall performance helps keep you listening to the end.
I highly recommend this great book. The perfect cozy for anytime of day.

Darcy & Flora and family secrets!

Grave Heritage is the 4th in the Darcy & Flora cozy mystery series by Blanche Day Manos. The mother - daughter duo have been through some rough times and this story brings them more family secrets to deal with. On top of that, there are days of rain and thunderstorm threatening to flood the roads. Definitely adds to the sinister aspects of the story and kept me on edge. Michelle Babb is such a talented narrator. She expresses the characters with accents and dialects true to the location and setting. She is an outstanding narrator. Great book series and great narration!
