    "Oh Sam!"

If you are new to the Troubleshooters series, I recommend starting from the beginning. The stories are linked. Sam and Alyssa go way back to the first book, although that one is NOT essential to understand things. BUT you DO need to read "The defiant hero" and "Over the Edge" (in that order) to understand Sam and Alyssa's relationship. Things in this book open your eyes to some of the things that Sam says and does.

I read some of the comments on some of the language thing...interestingly I did not notice the swearing at all the first time I listened to the book because it's Sam! In relistening to the book after reading that comment I did notice the swearing, but that's part of what makes him Sam.

The series is amazing. Some people don't like the multiple stories. It may take a bit to get used to it, but I have come to love it. The action is amazing in most of the books (I have to agree with others on the lack of action plot in #12 - All through the night), but having followed Jules' story throughout all the other books, it was OK. These are romance books with explicit scenes mingled with action. If you don't like either, this is not your kind of book. If you like both (you're probably a Gemini), you are in luck! Best books I have ever read, I can't enough. And I can't wait to hear more about Izzy and Eden, which Suz has promised for next book! I was very surprised when she answered my suggestion on her website within a couple of days!

"Another GREAT book by Suzanne Brockmann"
Would you listen to Gone Too Far again? Why?

The story was really good and I enjoyed every minute of it. I am an espionage fan as well as adore the stories of our military and those who keep us safe. Ok, I'm a romantic at heart, but get a real kick out of thrillers too. The narrator, Deborah Hazlett, was superb. Thank you for bringing the characters to life as you did.

"Excellent for Alyssa and Sam Fans"
Would you listen to Gone Too Far again? Why?

Yes. I really enjoy the humor in Brockmann's series. My favorite pairing (Locke and Starrett) are at their best in this one and I recommend it to any Alyssa/Sam fan!

What did you like best about this story?

Humor, sexy banter between characters. Storyline was so-so, but I can overlook it since I enjoy the couples in this one so much. I thought that the narrator was excellent and am dismayed that she hasn't done many of the others as well.

Which character – as performed by Deborah Hazlett – was your favorite?

I think she does them all well. I'm really hard-pressed to pick a fave.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    Definitely laugh...

    "Ahhhh Sam and Alyssa"

I love love love this book, I'd previously read it in paperback and loved it then but this was awesome!! Mizz Brockmann is a master of the Seal tale and I love them all this one by far the best tough. I do wish that they would have had a male and female Narrator for the opposing parts but hey that's just me Ms Hazlett did a fantastic job and I love the Texas drawl....sounds so much like home here in NC that its scary.

"Gave up. Slow, slow story. Yawn."
What would have made Gone Too Far better?

I kept listening and listening and waiting for the story to develop. Lots of sexial small talk and provacative situations but the story is just so terribly slow in developing.

Having been in the Navy myself, some of the details surrounding how Navy personnel tlak and act are far, far off.

Gave up on the book after 6 hours of listening.

What could Suzanne Brockmann have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Get to the point. Keep the story moving. Don't go on about senseless detail.

    Any additional comments?

    Yawn. Next book.

    "Romance is dominant"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

    A better writer.

What was most disappointing about Suzanne Brockmann’s story?

Simplistic romance novel. Not a great mystery.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Deborah Hazlett?

I think the writing is the problem, so the narrator didn't have much to work with.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I didn't finish it. It bored me.

    Any additional comments?

I wish there were a way to screen out romance books.

    Don't think so.

Would you be willing to try another one of Deborah Hazlett’s performances?

    yes
