"What a Total Waste of Time"

Thank goodness I got this one on a $4.95 sale and didn't use a credit. This book is totally ridiculous. There may be a suspense story in there somewhere but it gets lost with the trite, continuous and tacky romance themes. I'm all about a good love/sex scene but these are laughable! I would recommend this book for someone under 25 who still thinks what the author describes is humanly possible. I thought I could just read through the 'encounters' but they just take over the story. Definitely no recommendation from me.

"Sad to say I'm a bit disappointed-read on"
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Sure, I love the Troubleshooters Series.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I LOVE Sam's character in previous books. However, in this one his wife and child are missing and may be dead and his major focus is his infatuation with Alyssa - his sometimes girlfriend. While he had his moments [did I mention I LOVE Sam] they were few and far between...I felt he was a selfish jerk much of the time.

Which character – as performed by Deborah Hazlett – was your favorite?

She did well with all of them

Do you think Gone Too Far needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No, but fortunately it does...love this series.

    Any additional comments?

This is an action packed book BUT there is a lot of romance.

    "GREAT narrator!"

One of the best narrators I've ever listened to. Great expression and humor in her voice. Very pleasing to listen to. The story is good - I enjoyed one of the back stories of Walter and Dot was as much as the primary story of Alyssa and Sam.

"So much profanity I could barely follow the story"

The description of this book sounded really interesting and I was looking forward to listening to it. But after only 30 minutes I'm bailing out. The author has trouble completing a sentence, much less a paragraph without heavy doses of profanity where it doesn't even add to the development of the characters or the story. It is just annoying and totally distracts the listener from the story line of the book.

Don't bother buying this book unless you truly enjoy excessive profanity.

    DISAPPOINTED

    "Unrealistic"
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Totally unrealistic. Also, every character is extremely handsome or beautiful. Lots of foul language and sex.

    "pornagraphic soap opera"

If you are interested in a good mystery forget this book. It's all about the characters sex lives and very graphic at that. The mystery was lame and a side story. As far as the narration, it wasn't too bad except where Sam was concerned. This hulking navy seal sounded like a southern deb. That was extremely disconcerting !

"Why did I waste my time?????"
Would you ever listen to anything by Suzanne Brockmann again?

    No

Did Deborah Hazlett do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

    She did a decent job

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

This book was really all about foul language and sex....and not in any sort of good way. The story line was awful. Not really sure why I finished it.....
Don't waste your time or your $5.00

    "Gone Too Far"

First the good news. The reader has a nice voice and reads well. Now the bad. This book is utter tripe! It is bodice ripper disguised as a suspence novel with an improbable plot and characters that are simply not believable. If you like romance novels (I don't) this may be a good choice but I tired of it early, stuck with it as long as I could and finally switched over to radio.

    "An affront"

If you enjoy one dimensional characters with no appeal and dialogue full of expletives this one is for you.
