Suicide bombers are easy to spot. They give out all kinds of tell-tale signs, mostly because they're nervous. By definition they're all first-timers. Riding the subway in New York at 2:00 in the morning, Reacher knows the 12 giveaway signs to look out for. Watching one of his fellow passengers, he becomes sharply aware: one by one, she ticks off every bulletpoint on his list.
So begins the heartstopping new thriller starring today's most admired action hero, the gallant and enigmatic loner Jack Reacher.

i normally love this character, but i'm getting a bit bored with him. the book has an absolutely brilliant beginning and completely draws you in, but reacher is (literally and figuratively) getting a bit old.
it's a bit like a re-hash of his older novels, except it's written in the first person, which is rather odd. but come on jack, it's 2011! i refuse to believe someone could still be so technologically illiterate. learn how to use a computer/mobile phone etc. my mum's nearly 80 and she is more techno-literate than Reacher! it's really beginning to stretch credulity and my patience.
overall a solid, (but apart from first few chapters), unexciting listen.
"GET OFF THE TRAIN JACK!"
I am a Jack Reacher fan and clearly spend much of my subconscious energy being him. It works to a formula, it's a Lee Child, Jack Reacher story we expect and demand nothing less.
I read the other review and just thought, If you don't like mice don't go to Disney. I for one wasn't disappointed. Great story and, dispite the enevitable, you are on the edge all the way through.
Keep the crazy hollywood casting out of your head Jack Reacher is here to save us all, and he's good at it.
"Gave up listening:((((("
Set myself a task. Read all of the Reacher books. But this book was a chore. Didn't like it one bit!!!!!
Yes, because I know he has written good books before. This one was a let down. I didn't find it compelling like the other books that I had listened to.
He read the book okay. It was when he did the different voices that it detracted from the book. I don't think he is the right voice for this genre of books
Disappointment. Listened to the same chapter a couple of time and still did not get it. Also kept falling asleep
The next book 61 hours needs to make up for my disappointment!!!!!
"Another great Reacher novel"
Yes I love all Jack Reacher novels and a second listen always gives more
Any other of the Jack Reacher series by Lee Child
When Jack gets all the badies!!
Good flow very intriguing.
Couldn't stop listening.
Getting used to his story telling now, he is becoming an old friend.
Really enjoyed this one and i/ve listened to a few now. Can't wait for more movies to be made of his books Jack is my hero.
"Echoes of Chadler"
Brilliant, not listened to anything by Lee Child before, just had him recommended.
Style of narration very Chandleresque as it moves along with brief but punchy sentences - I certainly was left with some grim pictures in my head.
Story line very good and kept me engaged only loosing it on a very sunny afternoon in the garden when I drifted off in the sunshine...had to rewind to where I last remembered.
Have already downloaded another Lee Child story.
ps hope the rest have recording quality as good as this one as in the car, no hiss was apparent.
"One of the best"
What a great story. At times I felt I was enjoying it as much as Lee Child did when he wrote it. Jeff Harding had no small part to play in all this as he is after all the voice of Reacher, he really is the narration master. The first few chapters are real masterpiece, the way Child weaves his words and the way Harding tells the story is truly captivating. The story itself is a pulsating narrative that grows, changes shape and morphs into different possibilities along the way.
It really is, in my opinion, one of the best Reacher stories, lucky 13.
"Loved this book"
I am a huge fan of Lee Child / Jack Reacher. There was a small section within this book where it was a little.political , in my opinion, however as the book progressed I understood why and it worked. The beautiful way these books are written with such in depth description it what I love. Listening to it audibly digs deep into the imagination as it's on the verge of actually watching the film. So it's now time to move onto book 14. I can't wait!
"Really enjoyed this one"
I have enjoyed Jack Reacher time and again, however lately was worried I was becoming tired or bored with the character...."Reachered out" if you like.
Thankfully I found Gone Tomorrow engaging and enjoyable with plenty of turns and twists.
"Just don't mess with Reacher"
As usual a great story from Lee Child
Great reading , finished it in one go
"Good story well told"
Interesting plot twists very good narrator perhaps a little too much detail about specific weaponry!
