Perfect timing on the plot twist

Where does Gone Girl rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I liked it - the 2 voices for the characters were great and they did a great job voicing the other characters in their naration.

What did you like best about this story?

Loved that the plot twist came just about when my interest started waning.

Which character – as performed by Julia Whelan and Kirby Heyborne – was your favorite?

Seriously tied. Julia's was a bit tougher of a role, but enjoyed both.

Intense, dark. , exciting.. Then a Dud!

Great story .. Terrific character development. Lots of twists. Great narration. But then. "Spoiler" Nick becomes spineless? Story goes flat. All characters go flat.. Author didn't even intend to set up for a sequel.. And there is none. It's like a rocket that just fizzled!

Presumed Innocent because it has a similar interesting twist.

I've listened to the novel twice and loved it both times! The twists and turns. Great writing, a great listen to book.

Twist and turn

Just about the time I thought I knew where we were going it changed. Kept me hooked from very early on. Performance and voices were very good.

Incredibly Entertaining

This book was a Facebook recommendation. I have to say, it was one of the most entertaining reads I've listened to in a long time! The story was very well paced with twists and turns and layers coming at you left and right. The narrators were just great, especially Julia, in the way she was able to create the different sides of her character. I listen to books while driving to work and I was sitting in my driveway all week because I couldn't stop listening. I have to say I would have written a different ending but that didn't take away from the overall thrill of this book.

Wow twists and turns!!!!!!

You love, hate, feel compassion and then terror for the wife, then the husband. Your'e left feeling nothing but dread! What a story.
This author twists the story up, down and sideways. The story pulls you in and plays with your emotions all the way through. Please do yourself a favor and read this book.

great choice

great book and entertaining read. was able to get my class reading done while driving. entertaining performance

Two REALLY Sick Adults

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I forced myself to read it to the end simply because I thought Nick would grow massive balls or something.......a let down that he continued on his sick path with a sicker wife. I found the book tiring and depressing and I wanted to punch both of them in the face for being so incredibly manipulative and annoying, especially at the end.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Like I said above, I was hoping Nick would do something extraordinary, something besides caving in to his wife's demeaning nature, and fall in love with her again.

Have you listened to any of Julia Whelan and Kirby Heyborne ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

no but the performances were very good.

Was Gone Girl worth the listening time?

no

I gave this book three stars simply because I had to finish it to see what would happen in the end. I was disappointed but I suppose there's something to be said about finishing a book, after all.
