c when u mean crazy good, u mean you just don't know who to feel sorry for or who to hate.

lame ending

lame ending. enjoyed until the end, very suspenseful! good twists and turns, just was very disappointed in the ending.

It will pull you in

I must admit, at the start I did not think I would enjoy the book. I was not overly excited about the sound of the voices or the use of two narrators. It took me a few chapters to get used to and it ended up working quite well. I ended up enjoying the book very much and was really drawn in by it. It is an interesting cross between a noir and psychological thriller. I did not want to stop listening to the book and found myself taking round about ways home and to work just to listen longer. I really enjoyed it, it you buy it, just wait a few chapters and you will be drawn in as the story and characters come to life.

LOVED IT!

Loved it especially the multiple voices. Such a twisted plot. Can't wait to watch the movie!!

Clever, creative and interesting

Would you try another book from Gillian Flynn and/or Julia Whelan and Kirby Heyborne ?

I might give the author another listen. Not many authors do everything well, but I appreciate her considerable strengths. Julia Whelan was a perfect match for Amy, and I was very impressed with her portrayal. Kirby Heyborne did a nice job with Nick. It is reading like this that makes the audio format such a fun option.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Not unconditionally - it would need a very intelligent and gifted actress to play Amy, or I think it loses too much. I just checked and David Fincher is directing, so I will definitely see it in 2015!

Any additional comments?

I am glad I listened and am impressed with the author - creative, clever, thoughtful. The author gives a good look at the current state of news and media, public opinion and the legal system. I confess I found it unpleasant and draining to spend some 20 hours primarily with a sociopath and a narcissist/borderline. However, that comes with the territory for this story, and it delivers some interesting rewards. In the final third, I needed more verisimilitude, and some of the twists were more capricious or convenient than earned. Finally, the ending, taken at face value, or as an opening for a sequel, was a disappointment, as I try to, but I do not, buy it.

Could not stop listening.

I was so wrapped up in this book my first thought every morning was to watch the news and see if there were any developments. Then I remembered it was only a book and started listening again.

Good read

This book is great. The people who read it are great. If you like crazy people and crazy story lines you will love this book. The book is yet again way way way better than the movie.
