Slow start

It took several chapters until I became interested. I almost gave up. Turned out good though.

Literally NEVER talk to Police without a lawyer

This is "I'm not speaking to you without a lawyer present" the book, and it's less popular sequel, "You'll need a search warrant for that".

I got this book based on a friend's recommendation and after seeing the movie. Pleasantly surprised at the differences. I will say if you are like me and don't exactly trust LEO, or have listened to any True Crime media, you WILL be shouting "GET A LAWYER YOU IDIOT." for hours.
Honestly a great listen, and our main characters connected with me on a very real level. If you've been married or in a long term relationship the issues both face are very real. Especially so once you've gotten past them.
Unlike newer media there is no "The Internet!" type writing, or a "I live in a Liberal City, so let me preach Current Year!", or the much more jarring "My editor said the publisher wouldn't push it unless I added a bunch of Current Year in here."

The VA for our male lead is mostly good, but not great, and our female lead VA is great as Amy but has a hard time with male voices.

That’s the ending?

Great story, but no closure for other characters… what happened to Andy? What happened to “Go”? Good grief. It became quite ridiculous and non-believable around the cabin and the theft of the money belt.

I almost returned it through the first half 50 times, finally it got good. Then the ending was awlful, maybe it’s just me but I haven’t found a good ending on any hold I’ve listened to so far. The stories get good and the ending is literally heartbreakingly boring.

Intriguing character, Amy

The development of Amy through the course of the book evoked different emotions from me. I'm really glad the author included the edited portions at the end of the book. It's what put Amy's character together for me. I think she puts them in after the book is over on purpose. Nick is somewhat of a bore, so his character evolvement is a bit of a twist. So many times I listen to a book and I wonder, where is the worth...nothing to ponder. I go in for justice, so this book will probably tare at my mind for a while. Worthy of a book club...the discussion would be interesting.

Gone Girl

Loved it!! The narrator who read for Nick Dunne was incredible, so talented. Highly recommend, even if you’ve seen the movie. There’s a lot more to the story!

Excellent suspenseful book!

Omg! I loved this book!!! Soooo sooo beautifully written!!!
I was on the end of my seat for 3/4 of the time …. Exceptional!!!!
What a unexpected twist!!
Then.,.,the climax.,,
I loved it but i think the end could have been better.

What A Book

I think the best part of this book is how it challenges our understanding of truth. it speaks to this idea that of "Truth being a matter of perspective." This book will challenge you on what you and who you want to root for. Worth the time.

Twisty!

loved the different voices for each narrator. twists were unpredictable and interesting. the detail that goes into the characters is excellent
