A crime lord has declared war on America. Only Detective Michael Bennett knows why.
Manuel Perrine doesn't fear anyone or anything. A charismatic and ruthless leader, Perrine slaughters rivals as effortlessly as he wears his trademark white linen suit. Detective Michael Bennett once managed to put Perrine behind bars, the only official in the US ever to accomplish that. But now Perrine is out, and he has sworn to find and kill Bennett and everyone dear to him.
Detective Bennett, along with his 10 adopted children, their nanny, and his grandfather, are hidden safely on a rural California farm, with guards courtesy of the FBI's witness protection program. Perrine begins to embark on an escalating series of assassinations across the country, killings whose brazenness and audacity bring into question the possibility of safety and law in the U.S. The FBI has no choice but to ask Detective Bennett to risk it all in Perrine's war on America.
With explosive action and fierce villainy that rivals James Bond movies at their best, Gone is the next astounding novel by James Patterson.

sorry, I feel Patterson has become so cookie cutterish. but I found the narrators to be so monotone and sounded bored. I didn't find any excitement
Story had great potential but very disjointed and poorly presented
Ending was predictable
Over the top performance
None, characters were fine
Love Michael Bennett books. This book was simply not as good.
As always, I love the MIchael Bennet series. The stories always keep me in suspense. I keep hoping that Michael and Mary Catherine will get together and add to the clan.
YES, IF IT HAD BOBBY CANNAVALE AS THE NARRATOR. I LOVE JAMES PATTERSON AND HAVE READ ALL THE BOOKS OF THE "MICHAEL BENNETT" SERIES, BUT THE NARRATION IS VERY DISTRACTING.
I'M SORRY. I WAS UNABLE TO FINISH THE BOOK
I MAY JUST HAVE TO GO BACK TO READING THE BOOK INSTEAD OF LISTENING IF I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED.
Reading has always been my guilty pleasure. I would take stacks of books from the library. Now I listen to Audible.
I loved this book and didn't want it to end. It was just too short.
I have read all his books and only disappointed in GONE and the JOSTER.
They were so so
I was disappointed with everyone. Maybe I just don't care for the Bennett's.
I have been reading Patterson's books for years and have enjoyed Alex Cross, Private and Linsey Boxer. I love his books
Yes, I had lots of time on my hands and nothing better to do.
It wasn't written as well, some holes in the story, contradictions even. It was read by two persons, one was pretty good and the other, well, hard to listen to.
Read this after I, Michael Bennett. Loved that one. This one was nice because it finished up the story, but I was not impressed.
I am rarely seen without my headphones on and my iPod clipped on my waist. I love my books.
I am invested in Detective Bennett, along with his 10 adopted children, their nanny, and his grandfather. I enjoy their adventures and I am entertained by all of the books in this series. That is why I listen to books, to be entertained.
So while this is not in the category of "a page turner" it does have it's redeeming qualities, in so much that the reader/listener, can follow the adventures of this very unusual family.
I will buy the next installment in this series.
I was into it and then all of the sudden, it ended. The ending was anti-climatic. I would agree with some of the other reviews. Too cookie cutter and it make me wonder just how much James Patterson really is involved. I have read all the Michael Bennett's and all the Alex Cross books and this one was the first to somewhat disappoint.
Ending was too abrupt. No real closure for Michael. I would like to have had a last verbal confrontation between him and Perrin.
Prefer Bobby Canavalli as Michael. He is awesome!
The excitement of the safety of Bennett Family.
Where Mike found out that the his family was not in the safe house. Later finding out hey were safe with McMurphy.
Anger, crying, happy, and always a laugh or two!
Like the way Michael can appreciate the small things about family and nanny Mary Catherine. More of this series??
