Publisher's summary

In a time when technology can reveal the darkest of secrets, there's only one place to hide a crime of passion - in the heart.

The first victim was found lying on a sidewalk in the rain. The second was murdered in her own apartment building. Police lieutenant Eve Dallas had no problem finding connections between the two crimes. Both victims were beautiful and highly successful women. Their glamorous lives and loves were the talk of the city. And their intimate relations with men of great power and wealth provided Eve with a long list of suspects - including her own lover, Roarke.

As a woman, Eve was compelled to trust the man who shared her bed. But as a cop, it was her job to follow every lead...to investigate every scandalous rumor...to explore every secret passion, no matter how dark. Or how dangerous.

Crack another case with Eve Dallas.

I loved it!

Do you have any additional comments?

Throughout this entire audiobook, I kept thinking, “I know who the bad guy is”.  Then the plot would shift, I would think I was wrong, and it would be someone else; yet, I kept having this nagging feeling about who it was; I was right, but it was still an ultimate surprise because I wasn’t 100% sure until it was revealed.

I love this futuristic world; the flying cars and the crazy technology, yet people, and the passions that drive them, are the same as they are today.  Eve Dallas is the ultimate Kick Ass Chick, and I am looking forward to continuing this series for a long time.  I only have 40 or so more books to go to catch up.....Sara

JD Robb is like a crystal ball reader

I swear JD Rob must have a crystal ball for her books because the manosphere is exactly what CJ Morse is with the hate.

Good story but too much swearing.

I enjoy the stories but get tired of all the language. Also I don't like that Eve is such a nasty, mean person to everyone, especially Roark.

Another good read about my favorite characters.

What did you love best about Glory in Death?

There is no doubt that it is because of the narrator Susan Ericksen that that one becomes so involved in these books.
She makes the characters come to life and makes you feel you are at the scene looking and listening to each as they talk.
She is so good at having a voice for each person as apposed to someone just reading a book to you.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Eve as she is so down to earth.

What about Susan Ericksen’s performance did you like?

Every bit of it she is so good.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

You have got to see it and experience real drama.

Any additional comments?

I have read 5 of this series and will be buying all of them

Sexy as ever...

This book is the second in the series - and I am reading them in order. It was just as enjoyable as the first, and I enjoyed getting to know the characters I met in the first book. The sexiness from the first book for sure carries over to this one... the chemistry between the main characters is definitely still there.

The 'who-done-it' part of the book was more transparent than in book one, however. I had the mystery figured out by the early middle of the book... then it was just a waiting game until Eve figured it out.

Enjoyable, though. I'll be moving on through the series - because I'd like to see what happens after this book's surprise ending.

Great story!

This audiobook is the second of the In Death series by JD Robb, aka Nora Roberts. I really love the way the author is building the characters in each book. In this story we meet Peabody, who will become an important character in subsequent books. (Peabody is one of my favorite characters!). Eve Dallas and Roarke’s romance has progressed to love and Eve has moved into the mansion with Roarke. As I said in my review of book 1, you need to listen to these audiobooks in the order of release or you will be confused because the author adds new characters in each story. Murder is Eve’s specialty, and as a homicide cop she has a lot to figure out in this story. It doesn’t help that the first of three victims is very close to Commander Whitney’s family. In the end Eve nails her suspect, and saves Nadine First’s life. Narration was excellent!

Hello Peabody

I can’t imagine anyone else better to tell this amazing story than Susan Erickson. Having almost all her books I enjoy listening to them now too. Serial killers are so much fun

Finding footing

Robb continues developing the main characters in this second outing for Dallas and Roarke, and reader Susan Erickson begins to find her voices, which over the series becomes more and more characters identifiable.
We are also introduced to Officer Peabody in this investigation. Red herrings, misleading evidence and near misses provide a captivating storyline.
