You Should Know...

I have not finished this book, and I admit it is not bad, but anyone who purchases it should be aware that this is not a new book. It is retitled from a book written in 1998 (I think--the author tells you at the beginning of the book).

It was written before the author moved into suspense, so it is basically a romance novel with some suspense.

There is no way of knowing this from the information available on Audible. I consider this rather unethical, as I was not looking for an old romance novel, but rather one of the excellent suspense novels that this author currently writes.

Loved the story

Gerritsen was evolving to thriller suspense and this was her first! It is a rewrite with a different title. However, She did a great job with it and it was a great listen!

Good story

This is an early Gerritsen novel, and it shows. The character could be deeper, better explained, and there are some gaps in the development, but maybe the editor cut out a little too much. Even so, it shows the trend she'll take later, and the story is nicely done, and enjoyable.

Okay

This was not her best one since it was her one of the first books. I loved her other books much more than this one. Even though, the summary hinted that the book has romantic genre mixed in suspense, I could not feel the romance listening to the book.

Another great book by Tess Gerriseen

I found this book another hit by Tess. It was a little hard to picture Cat, and quant real as a couple. However in books things always work out. The story was fast moving and held my interest. I think Susan Ericksen is turning into a good narrator. A good combination

Chick book.

I enjoyed the book but would be surprised if many men would. It was a typical story line but it was worth listening to.

What was most disappointing about Tess Gerritsen’s story?

The narrator was just not that good. There was not enough difference in the voices and I often got confused on who was speaking.

The story was just ok. The main character seemed to have a big chip on her shoulder that clouded her common sense.

Like being stuck in an elevator

Oh my god! This was maybe the worst listen I've had so far. I had to quit after 90 minutes. The narrator had me grinding my teeth and thinking of elocution specialist hell - I doubt even a better reader could have saved the writing though. Just Plain Bad! I gave it one star because I wasn't given the option of zero....
